  1. Hey guys, finally got the body bolted back on the frame of my 70 monte project. getting ready to rehang the doors so I can repair 1/4s.Not sure how much I will need to cut out so I figured better hang the doors for a guide . I have doors that the hinges have been completly removed ,any tricks on were to start with the hinge position and alignment? any advice greatly appreciated!

  2. Trying to install rear shocks on my 70 ss, been a long time since old ones were removed .Looks like there are 2 locations for the bottom bolt tryed both but seems like the rear end is to far forward .The top mounting location puts the shock at a bind and sever angle. I do have my frame off the car on jack stands with no weight on the frame not sure if that. makes a dif or not. any advice appreciated  thanks

  3. Wow ,thanks for the wealth of info ,really helps .I find it crazy that summit and jegs  say that spring isolators are needed in front top of the spring ,wasted over a hour yesterday on the phone trying to find a answer. I should have posted here first, nothing like experience . These  sights would have been handy 30 years ago when you had to find your answere in a motors manual . Once again great info . Thanks to everyone

  4. Ok another perdicumant  , went to install front springs with isolators ,the isolators dont look like there the correct size for the spring that came out of the car .S ummit says they are the correct isolators. anyone know the correct diameter and length of stock coil spring for the front of 70 ss 454? thinking mabey someone switched springs back in the day. Also dont remember any isolators that were there when I took the springs out.

  5. anyone have experience with polyurethane bushings? trying to make a choice between polyurathane and regular rubber for my 70 monte. Talked to jegs they have a complete bushing set with every bushing for the car even trans mount and trailing arms, however it doesnt contain the 2 extra bushings that are needed  for the ones by the firewall. cant seem to find a complete set for a monte.

  6. intresting a lot to takein i was talking to a sles rep at jegs he said to go with 1 inch lowering coil springs and billstien shocks for a lower center of gravity ,wiich would add great handling. I do like the ride hieght up all the way around though, torn on what to do..Any input appreciated.  thanks
