That’s why during the peak of the hp wars, the manufacturers were pretty conservative on the hp numbers to help a little on the insurance premiums.

I’ve always felt there was nothing on the underside of a car that should be highlighted by chrome or contrasting paint colors. I think it should just blend into one and disappear. But this is just my opinion, and we all know the saying about opinions. Personal preference is what matters. Do what makes you happy.

I’ve seen it at auto parts stores with the wheel paint. The same color as the ralley wheels.

One thing that can be hard on mirrors is car covers without mirror pockets. The covers I bought for the Monte and my Camaro fit snug and really pulled down on my mirrors. I replaced the Camaro mirror once already, so I ordered up 3 pockets. I’ve been using California Car covers for years but they don’t put pockets on a lot of their covers. You can buy the pockets. They come with instructions and a template on how to mark the cover. I paid a person in town that used to make boat covers to sew them on. If I ever need to replace a mirror in the future I’ll remember the Morris name.

Welcome Steven, beautiful Monte. Sorry to hear about your friend. I see he has entrusted you as its new caretaker. There is plenty of good info here to get you through whatever you encounter. Send us some interior and under hood shots. If you choose, the $25 membership is money well spent.

That’s what I’ve got and I still have 1/2” clearance with the wheel well molding lip. No trimming of any kind.

The seller, Beverly Hills Car Club is actually in East LA. In 22 reviews they scored 2 1/2 stars.

All your shots are awesome. Don’t know what’s more beautiful, your Monte or the scenery.Do you take a bad photo? The A+W caught my eye too. Fond memories of them.

I just put that same tank on mine about 2 months ago. It does mention the cap is vented.

Called Jegs today, and confirmed that according to Energy Suspensions info, some of their bushings contain graphite but not the red due to the color. I then got on a chat with Energies tech support, see photo. Jegs part number for the rears is 355(denotes Energy Suspension)-3-3132G, the G Is for black. Why would they use G for black and not B, when they use R for red? Wondering if the G is for graphite. PST Polygraphites number is POLY33132. Just speculating here but from Energies response it seems like maybe they’re using the graphite to color the black bushings. Took a chance and ordered the Energies along with their special lube from Jegs. I’ll compare them with some Polygraphites I received awhile ago for the leafs on my 69 Camaro. Hope this isn’t too confusing just to save the $40 difference. I’ve been accused of overthinking things.

Energy Suspension makes the polygraphite bushings for PST. For front and rear they are about $60 less and the part numbers are almost identical. I’ll call Jegs tomorrow to see if I can confirm they are the same part. Otherwise I’ll order from PST. Rear/$159, front/$129.

Great to hear I appreciate your opinion. Im going that route. I’m starting with the rears then will work my way to the fronts. Ordering the bushings today. Then the inserts to box the trailing arms along with a rear sway bar shortly. The Bilsteins came in about a week ago. Being on a fixed income now, I have to watch what I spend. Won’t start the project until I have all I need. I treat all my projects like this. I’ll research the crap out of it and get others thoughts on the subject before taking them on.

Never have. They looked like aftermarket. Don’t remember the rears being space that far apart either. Not sure why there would be 2 sizes unless they were year specific. The ones shown are on a 72.

I use non ethanol in the Monte it's 4.59 I noticed when I put gas in my truck today. Regular was only 3.49 today lol
Thanks for the reminder. I did some research and was surprised how many stations near me carried it. $5.40-$5.70/gl. For regular only. It’s about .20/gl more than the ethanol stuff.

Had that issue on my Camaro. Bought the tires around 2016. It took about a year for the rears to begin turning brown. I was able to clean each individual letter with acetone, but that was crazy. The fronts stayed bright white. 2 different size tires. After Googling the issue, I realized others had the same problem, so I went back to the shop I purchased them from and they filled out a special form that went to Michelin who owns BFG. They honored the complaint and replaced them. Now after about 3 years, they’re doing the same. The fronts are still perfect. BFGs were on my Monte when I bought it. As Glen said, time will tell.

Pretty bizarre the studios picked such a rare car. At first I thought maybe Puerto Rico was like Cuba with a lot of older American iron. Not the case, apparently Toyota Corolla is a number 1 seller. They also have quite a car culture there.
