go to "Members' Montes" Don...there should be some pictures in there....If you have them installed on the front fenders (in front of the wheel well, I would think they would attach about the same. Haven't had one off in a while....David

Thanks Steve, yeah that's what I was referring to, my bad I just call the whole thing rocker....I guess I was confused because if the rest is there.......David

Don't mean to get in the middle but I'm confused and just want to know. Are we talking about the lower (rocker) moldings? If so shouldn't they line up with the door and front fenders and use the same type clips and such? Just trying to learn. thx guys....David

I can't remember Aaron (I'm very old ). However I would guess the rubber one with "OIL" on it is probably the stock one and what you currently have is aftermarket. Guys???

3 '72's all had push in.....

We have the original grill in our Monte and it is as Rich described......

Robert for what it's worth my '72 is as Rich describes. I know the '70, '71, and '72 are all variations of a theme but the basic esthetics are the same... David

Hi Royce, if you want to look at something on the left coast check out Inland Empire Driveline. Most of the hp shops in so.cal. use them...website.... www.iedls.com....
love your car!! David

they should have one that fits the Holley no problem.....

I know this isn't very high tech Mariano but here's a simple test. Take a foam coffee cup with you, place it on top of the air cleaner and GENTLY close the hood watching it all the way. If you don't run out of cup when it smashes you're probably good.......also make sure the air cleaner stud is at the bare minimum.....

thank you sir......first did you notice much with the change, performancewise?? I'm still debating whether to do it or not, return on investment....Second, how's things in Sactown? Before I got transferred back down here a few years back I lived in Elk Grove for a while.... David

One other thing, what is the configuration of your air cleaner? Does it just sit on top of the carb? I'm not sure how to describe this but some have a recessed base, in other words the assembly sort of drops down and surrounds the carb instead of sitting on top. If you don't have one this might give you some more clearance, you would have to check it out. Using that with a 2" filter might help. FWIW....David
Ian, thanks for the height info...I'm thinking of going from the GM aluminum to a Performer RPM or same in air gap for Patricia's Monte. I was worried about clearance but I think I'll be okay ....

Hi Kevin, just some more info for you. Another good place to look is the Inland Empire Driveshaft website, iedls.com
Lot's of info on driveshafts, how to measure, etc. On the left coast they are THE place for driveshafts. David
ps. Your Coke machine is just unbelieveable and totally cool!!

I don't know either Jake. I just checked ours and it's the same as yours...3 and 1....David

Ditto what Jake said.....the other option would be a trans with an overdrive built into it like a 700R but that would require a swap and mods...

No doubt you are going to get a ton of information from members on your request. To clarify do you mean you want quicker acceleration from stop? If so you want a "lower" (a higher number like 3:25, 3:42, 3:55, etc.) gear which will increase your RPM's at cruise. You already have gears that will give you low RPM's at cruise. A 4-spd doesn't really enter into it. Hope that makes sense. David

That's very cool Jake. Thanks for sharing, we love to find stuff like that. We had a close friend who couldn't wait to pick up the '87 AeroCoupe he ordered. It had so many problems after a week he took it back and got his money back. The 80's were not always kind to GM! David and Patricia
