ya im working on figuring it out, lol. one minute the cars sitting doing nothing the next its in the body shop, the big blocks getting rebuilt and i gotta build the chassis and try and problem solve all this, shoot me now! cant wait till i can drive it!

well i really dont know what i should do, im looking at opgi.com and theres a Z bar kit, the tunnel hub, a boot, a dust shield and a trim piece that holds the boot, Im ordering these and many other parts at once from them but i dont want too order anything I may not need if i go 5spd, im using the original center console but this tunnel extension for the console seems narrow, would you end up having to hack it up to make the opening wider? also with converting too a spd im still a little hazy if the shifter would even come through the floor in the same location?! lol Its getting a bit confusing im wondering if it would just be easier getting a 4spd

another qustion is i have a centre console in my other 70 that im going too use, its an auto console can you just change the centre peace where the horse shoe shifter comes out so it can accomodate a manual?

the part im trying too figure out also is if the gear shifter on a 4 spd is in the same spot as a 5 spd

well the two ways im thinking of going is either a 4spd or maybe a 5spd out of a late 80's camaro I heard its a pretty simple replacement for the 4spd, where can i get one of those?

hey guys, im just wondering if there is any kind of bracket that mounts off too the side of the tunnel for the gear shifter or does it come right through the top of the tunnel? i have a console that will be going in it so im thinking it looks like it will go through the centre but i have seen cars the other way too

they look pretty interesting!! thanks i'll do some reaserch on them, i was looking at the summit site and there were a good amount of pistons in the 50-60 dollar range and they whent way up too 500. i know the more you spend obviously the better the product but i definately cant afford highest end stuff! trying too build this baby and still have some money left lol

I guess ideally forged would be nice, but im also open too suggestions, I'll definately be paying a few visits to the track with it and i definately would like too beat on it a bit. Im not trying too build anything crazy just a good strong engine

lol, i'll say! at first i was just going too do body then for whatever reason the body and frame seperated lol. oh well, It was a gift from my dad and ill have it forever so i can deal with it. I figured i might as well do it before i had a kid and house too pay fore. Now the kids here and house has too be in the near future so i gotta kick it into overdrive

ya thats the kit im looking at! im doing a complete too. im getting the body kit and chassis kit as well. I seen them use this place on speed seemed really good!

i know its i little much but im doing a frame off and over the past year or 2 i have miss placed screws amd bolts and alt are as old as the car. i figured since its all labeled for what it is for and organized its worth it. your probably paying an extra 50 dollars for that but i think its worth it. I do need everything and im busy enough that it would be very hard too drive everywhere looking for certain things

so did you use the kit for the 70 chevelle coupe then i would assume?

i dont expect everything too work but if the majority of it is compatible thats ok with me

hey everyone! I have a question regarding my 70 monte. I am tryin too order all new bolt and screw kits through a company called amkproducts.com The problem I am having is that they have a chassis and body kit for the 70 monte but no interior kit. the one that is closest is a 70 chevelle. Can anyone tell me if they have had this problem or if the 70 chevelle interior kit will work? I know they are very close thanks!

i've been slowly working on my 70 and its almost at the put back together point of the resto. Any tips on places I can go to get diagrams or anything for reassembly? I'm almost willing too go out and find a basketcase for like 1000 or 1500 around there just too look at. What do you guys think?
