Ok you guys seem right sorry for the questions just wanted to be 100%

Problem is in the manual it shows actual shifter in automatic section and just this bracket in the manual section
-
-
No it's im between that and the back bracket I'm going to try and post a picture tonight

If your talking about mine they are Hedman hedders, they were the 4th set I ordered, I tried long but hit crossmember and a few others had very poorly made flanges. Hedman had a nice ceramic shorty for a bbc and that's what I went with very good brand!

Thank you sir! Yes I have welded the rear bracket in. And yes I was I guess referring to the middle piece, in the assembly manual in shows the gear shifter in the automatic section but in the manual section it still seems to show some sort of bracket for the centre to take the automatic shifters place I'll see if I can figure out how to post a picture tonight but I'm good with not needing to worry about it haha

Posted this in interior tech but thought maybe I would get more action here.
So putting my car together, was originally a bench with automatic. It is now buckets and console with 4spd manual. I have learned that the console on the automatic donor car mounted to the gear shifter, I see in the assembly manual that for a manual car there is a special bracket for it to bolt to towards the front. Could anyone tell me if you can buy this part?
I have a picture but I cannot figure out how to upload it

I have a picture but having trouble trying to post it

There's also another fairly big bracket at the front according to the assembly manual. Looks like it bolts to the hump. In the automatic picture it doesn't have it because it looks like it bolts/screws to the horse shoe gear shifter assembly but since 4 spd doesn't have that I guess this bracket is what replaces it. My console is from an auto so the bracket was not there

I have refurbished the grills on both of my '70's will good results. Here's a link to a photo journal I made showing the process I used: Grille Refurbishing
After the Photobucket album loads, just click on the first photo and read the caption beneath. Then click on the advance arrow to see the next photo and caption in sequence. Good luck!

Does it look pretty good in that argent silver?Take your time with a small pointed tapered file & clean up all the pits in the silver painted area. Then tape it off. polish the chrome & repaint the box grill area argent silver. any black area black semi or gloss & your done. Don't get to crazy with polish chrome area, It oem chrome over cast-pot metal. No triple plate back then.

Trying too clean up all that scuzzy white that these grills get over the years, tried a dremal but impossible too get in corners plus the different polishes I've been using aren't getting it 100%. I seen online guys use Coca Cola I may give that a shot with a tooth brush just seeing if anyone has any tricks

I got my new side glasses from them and so did Cory Mohlman CKZ03 is his screen name. I went with the standard tint and Cory went with the darker tint. They both look good and I know mine worked very well. I wished I had purchased my windshield and back glass from them. I paid around $400 for all of them plus shipping of $45.00

Anyone know where too order new door glass and quarter panel glass?
-
So I bought all the trim new aftermarket I will need for along the bottom of the car, (rockers, doors, fenders, quarter panels etc. From opgi but I assume wherever you get it will be all the same. The new clips I got with everything is somewhat complicated too figure out, the round holes for the bottom piece of trim that goes along the rocker are too small for the new clips so I either make holes bigger which I don't want too do or come up with a way of making the clips work. Has anyone ran into this problem with trim? If so any advice? Like what clips go where or what too do too make things work properly lol sorry for being vague lol. There has too be a video somewhere of someone installing this stuff on a Chevelle or something

Ya I'm keeping my car fairly stock

Yes sir, bottom of the doors, looks like it's purpose is to keep Windows somewhat stable when they are all they way down and you close the door to prevent window from slamming around inside, both my 70 I'm redoing and my parts 70 Monte have them
