  1. I am going for a stock look I like the idea of the buckets and console, what I do t get is I have a m20 from 71 so it should work some how
  2. Well the shifter in the car is hurst comp plus 2 numbers on the shifter are 3216274 and 3306126 don't know if it's the same number or 2 different numbers there was a small space between them The one Sam says will work is also a hurst comp plus part # 3918014
  3. Saginaws are also cast muncies are aluminum
  4. Just learnt something else, the guy I bought it from said its a 71 the older muncies had the by pattern your talking about and that was too be able too move the shifter forward or back newer muncies such as mine are only the 3 holes like a Saginaw Well I learnt a lot this morning My dads gonna flip I got two cars I'm working on but couldn't stop thinking about this problem lol
  5. date code is p4m10a so according too the chart its a 1970-74 Muncie date code indicates it was built august 10th and that it is a M20 this is a real head scratcher id say
  6. http://www.myss396.com/ChevelleInfo/Transmissions/Muncies.html my god this is confusing lol numbers on this site also tell me that my tranny and tailstock are in fact a 1970-74 Muncie but going by holes in tail stock it visually looks like a Saginaw this is stressful lol
  7. is it possible a tailstock from a Saginaw could be installed on a Muncie trans?
  8. Here's the link http://www.5speeds.com/muncie2.htm
  9. Ok so trans number is 3925661 Tail stock is 3978764 Casting: 3925661 Years: 1970 - 1974 Ratios: M20 2.52 1st , M21 2.20 1st, M22 2.20 1st
  10. I found a few numbers I'll post them at lunch maybe someone can help figure them out I'll try also
  11. I was told by the mechanic in out building that rebuilt it that it is a m21 where would the serial number be?
  12. Talked too Leo, super friendly very smart, I'll be using him from now on
  13. I don't know about Vince but I stood my car up on the firewall with 5 other guys and a 24 of coors lol
  14. I know the town, not alot out there lol. The headers I used are Hedman elite shorty headers part # 68618. They fit real nice ordered 2 other set prior too these ones that were supposed too work and did not, apparently a lot of shops think Chevelle is the same but the engine sits back further then a Chevelle, I'd definately suggest these headers, for 590ish the quality is amazing their made in the USA and 3/8 flange which was very important for me too have
  15. Port perry? Sounds really familiar, is that close too Huntsville? Off the 11? I'm from Kitchener/Waterloo my buddy lives on lake Vernon I'm usually up there about 20x a year lol
  16. Hopefully the rest of the parts will work... That was not a cheap kit
  17. You guys ROCK!!!! And you 2 especially have been a lot of help and it's extremely appreciated!!! Definately not what I received, I checked their part numbers and there the same for Chevelle and monte so that's no good, I'm suprised their getting away with that. Doesn't make any sense since I now know that the engine sits back 4" more then a Chevelle thanks too Sam for that info
  18. So I need the bracket that bolts too the frame that supports the zbar, my 300 dollar kit came with the wrong one apparently, anyone know what it's supposed too look like?
  19. I've used them for my chrome and stuff like that but I find first gen monte specific stuff can be a headache unless you can find a supplier that specializes in our cars
  20. Hopefully all the other parts on the kit will work
  21. I feel like that's what had happened, I rechecked the monte catalog from them and it is the same bracket but maybe they think it can be used on both cars... I'm going too call koniks klassiks since he's a member maybe he will be of some help
  22. Talking about fitment I just tried installing the z bar kit I bought from them and the bracket for the z bar is nowhere close too being right fml never ending with me and this car
  23. So I have ok order another few thousand with of parts yay lol. I've been using opgi, their super easy too deal with even got a few freebies. So I now have too order a lot more stuff lol but I've heard some negative things about opgi but never heard of any reasoning behind it. Id love too hear people's thoughts on them and suggestions for other suppliers that have the massive selection like opgi has
  24. Well ended up with Hedman elite shorty headers part # 68618 Fit awsome! No effort at all like tossing a hot dog down a hallway
