  1. Looking good...you are gonna need new trim rings and caps to go with them now... grin
I've got some brand new trim rings and some nice centers also. I'm going to let them dry and then get the tires put on. I'll take more pics then.. Thanks for the compliments guys...... Rodney
  2. Mine are looking a bit worn and I'd like to redo them pretty soon. I'm considering going with a little darker gray than stock as I've always liked that look. It would also be very easy to correct if I decided I didn't like the look.

Your wheels look great. Is the extra can you have the correct argent color?

VHT Chevy Rally wheel silver is the name of it. It has like metallic flakes in it that was flying in the air while spraying it.
  3. Looks good Steve. I am going to take my seats and the covers I bought over to a local upholstery shop and see how much it will cost me to have them put on. I want my seats to look good and not look like i did it. LOL
The local upholstery places wanted $400+ to put my covers on. It was like $69 per cushion. UH I don't think so nutz
  4. Put a wheel lug nut on one of the lugs, and using that as a reference point. Have a friend/wife/GF turn the drive shaft 1 complete revolution. Count how many times the lugnut makes a complete revolution. Example is, 1 turn of drive shaft and 3 and 1/4 in turn equates to 3.25 or probably close to a common ratio of 3.23.

    Hope this helps

It takes 3.25 turns of the driveshaft for one complete revolution of the lugnut. What do I have?
  5. Count the nuber of teeth on the ring and on the pinion divide the number on the ring by the pinion. Say you have 37 on the ring and 9 on the pinion that would be a 4.11.
I would have to disassemble the carrier to see the pinion teeth right?
  6. The axles are not bolt in, those are the bolts that hold the backing plates on. The spring perches look like they are in the correct place for a Monte or any A/G body. What does it measure backing plate to backing plate? It should measure the same as your current one does.
I thought the perches sat a little bit forward of the axle housing on the Monte. I also thought the 12 bolt BOP rear Which is really a 10 bolt because it has 10 bolts on the ring gear had the bolt in axles. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I have really been searching all over the web trying to find more info on this.
  7. Well I bought the BOP rear end. It has 12 bolts on the cover and 10 bolts on the ring gear. Is this bad? It has 42 teeth on the ring gear and it is posi. I do not plan on racing or building my engine into a powerful beast. Do you all think this will be ok for my use? Here are a few pictures:

Here is the mod the guy did to make the rear fit into the G-body Regal he had it in. He moved the perches to the top of the axle tubes

Are these the bolt in axles?

If all goes well, there wont be any more one wheel peel shiftershocked

  8. Will a BOP 12 bolt posi with 3:42 gears work in my 71 monte? Is it worth $300. The person selling it says it has been modified to work in a G-body but can be put back into a 68-72 A-body. I haven't talked to the person this is all from his ad. What possible modifications could he be talking about? Thanks family...... Rodney

  9. Hey my speedometer just stop working. I took the cable loose from the transmission and turned the cable and the speedo moves. Could this be the gear inside the trans? Can this be changed by just removing the one bolt on the trans. Thanks family. Oh where can I get the gear from also? I haven't taken the gear out yet so I don't know the color of it.
