  1. Rodney, I am sure someone here knows but it may take a little more time for that Right person to see your post and respond but I am sure that will happen.

I searched from one end of the assembly manual to the other and came up with nothin'. :(

Trying to buy some if they are correct.
  2. Thanks Bill! Exactly what I needed to see. I will get this to work. I got the fans for $100 so I will get it done. I might have to trim the housing a little and reseal the gaps. I will see. Thanks again!! You are a great help.

  3. Glad to see the fan shroud has angled corners, like you said looks like you can get it to work. As far as using both the electric and mechanical I would think would be way overkill...that electric fan will be more than enough. Just my electric fan keeps my 502 no more than 180/190 on a 90 degree day, I have a 160 thermostat in it also. My fan typically runs at 75%, not too often it runs at a 100%. Looks to me you have the same control panel on it as mine...might want to google the schematic on it if you did not get one with the fan. If you want to cool it even further you can install the override switch so it will be at 100% whenever you flip it on. You can actually over cool it though...I have played with mine and on a cool day of say 65 degrees you can bring the temp too low with it running 100%.

Thanks Bill. Yes I got the instructions with the fans. I decided to only run the electric fans. Can you post a pic of your setup so I can get some ideas on how to mount mine? Thanks again!!

  4. Rodney on my 70 I have the mechincal clutch fan with a clutch that locks up at low speeds and my dual elec fan set up mounted to the radiator flx-412_w_ml.jpg. While at the eastern meet in 2013 the water temp stayed around 190° with a 185° temostat. 006-11.jpg

So I could use both Ert?

  5. FIRE IN THE HOLE! :yay: Sounds good Rodney. She's really coming along. What's next on the agenda now she has a heartbeat again?

Hi Larry!! Now that she's mobile again my Cousin is gonna start back on it now that he's finished with his Grand National. I am hoping for completion around Springtime

  6. So, it is true. You can't keep a good General Motors Down. Way to Go !!  Hope everything is keeping cool Rodney !!   :fgmcc:

Sounds great Rodney!!! Congrats on a successful cam break-in. As far as the radiator, crap happens. These old cars will fight ya sometimes. Keep digging you're gaining on it.

    Glad it survived! :)

    ..... :dt   B)

    Thanks everyone!!

  7. Sorry to hear of your latest set back, Rodney - lucky no one was injured.  It was undoubtedly steam pressure that caused it to explode meaning your new engine was experiencing dangerously excessive operating temperatures.  Hope you were able to shut it down immediately and haven't caused colateral damage to your valve train.

I hope there's no damage Dennis or there will be a 71 project for sale
  8. Rodney, it sounds like every time you fix one thing something else lets loose. Sorry to hear about your hard luck. Did the shop who checked it out run any kind of pressure test or had it been dropped after it was checked out?

    Rob

Yeah Rob they checked it out and pressure tested it and gave me the okay. I put it back in the original box and stored it till today.
