  1. It goes from 1st to 2nd at about 40 then 2nd to 3rd at around 70 or 75
  2. It's always been slamming into gear When i'm just about to max out rpm's in first and it shifts into second it hesitates a little, maybe loss of traction? When i floor it from 0 power braking i chirp first and second. I have literally done that 2 times sinse i've got new tires, now i gun it at 5 or 10 so i dont spin too bad
  3. lol I have flowmaster 40's on there now I'd like to just run strait pipes but there are too many things going on at once with my poor monte
  4. When i completely stomp on it in first gear and when it shift's into second it hesitates sometimes. Same with 2nd to 3rd My tranny fluid looks burnt and i honestly don't know what to do. I bought a 4 dollar thing of lucas stop slip tranny fluid, that was on sale, its a little bigger than a quart like 28 ounces or something. It was kind of an impulse buy Should i somehow drain the tranny fluid or just leave it alone and keep my mouth shut? Tranny is a 3 speed no overdive, with a shift kit i was told It doesnt change gears smooth, almost like someone kicking a door
  5. I'm gonna take it to the shop that did the seals
  6. I'm just going to think of it as a rotary engine now lol
  7. idk then when i get home ill check the plugs ill have my mom stand behind me to see ifits smoking, im almost positive its not sounds like piston rings right? not valve seals i honestly dont know to much when it comes to this stuff. i checked the oil on level ground but it was still hot
  8. Te residue is like a damp, black, baby power. Carbon right?
  9. It looks like baked beans/darker amber It doesn't smoke at all The exhaust has some residue but no substance. What would the exhaust feel like?
  10. Wait i checked it while it was hot like 10 minutes in the garage and 200-210 water temp
  11. Okay I'm gonna put a quart in it tonight and change it this weekend
  12. Burned 1 quart over 542 miles since October 1st I'm pretty sure it's piston rings because i redid the heads in May. I'm running valvoline 10w-30 I am kind of hard on it, almost daily Would this have something to do with it? How much longer do you guys think it will last like this? HELP i'm getting scared!
  13. True I didn't think of the plugs I haven't changed them sense I've owned the car Should i change them? I burned through another quart of oil in 600 miles again
  14. So pretty much take off the AC Compressor, the plug wires and i'm set?
  15. That's what i was thinking it's so annoying
  16. I was thinking that Here's the best description Moving pictures and sound
  17. It sounds Exactly like a pen hitting a desk or flicking a plastic bag filled with aluminum foil. Actually it sounds exactly like flicking aluminum foil
  18. How hard is it to change the gasket on the head?
  19. Wallaby THANK YOU! One more question, would it sound like a pen hitting a desk if the leak was on the head?
  20. Thanks man Realistically having the leak in general isn't hurting anything correct? and they look like this?
  21. I didn't think of that I was just looking at where the headers meet the pipes. The manifolds are extremely old, i'm assuming they're original, idk what the original ones look like. The seals on the block to the manifold look fine. I think it's where they end and meet the pipes. Is there three bolts that come out of the headers? And then if they do, do the pipes side along the three bolts that are attached to the headers? I feel can two nuts on each bolt, i don't have a functioning flashlight at the moment so i cant really see what i'm looking at lol
  22. What about inside the steering wheel or inside a glass shift knob? or a filled, see though hood spear Or maybe spread it out all underneath the vinyl top?
