  1. Thanks a bunch. Same for me , I plan on being right around 400 HP myself. I wont be drag racing the car which Is why I was considering just building this rear end as long as its an 8.2
  2. So true Now that im looking at mine it does not have the tabs that both pictures with red arrows show. Mine must be the 8.2
  3. either check the pinion nut or the ring gear bolts. How do I do that ? Is it easy to get at ? Mine looks like the 8.2 Is a 8.2 worth adding a posi to and some gears ?
  4. Sorry for all the questions. Im getting ready to do the gears in my Monte. Im going to add a Posi unit and 3:73 gears. When I called the speed shop today they asked if it was 8.2 or 8.5 ....Is there a quick easy way to determine what 10 bolt my Monte has ? Thanks in advance, Phil
  5. Do big block 4 brl run a differant throttle cable then small block 2 brl ? If so , does anyone know where I could buy a new BB 4 Brl throttle cable ? Im also having issues with my turbo 350 shift down cable being to short

  8. I switched my 350 2 barrel out to a 454 4 barrel and the original kick down cabel isnt working with the BB brackets. The cabel seems to short. Is a big block kick down cable for the monet differant then the small block 2 barrel one ? If so were can I get the correct cable ? Thanks in advance , Phil

  11. Im having a wire issue. I origally bought MSD with 90 degree boots and the guy doing my work asked me to return them because the hit the headers ( hooker comp ). He asked me to get straight boots so I got Taylor 180 degree boot today but after looking at pictures it doesnt look like these are going to work. Each time things dont fit I have to drive 40 miles South , to then drive 40 Miles North back home and another 40 Miles North to where the car is so im not happy about driving back and fourth ( laughing ).
  12. Now the problem im having after removing one ring is the fit is higher the the shroud.....What a PITA this is turning out to be. I wish I jsut kept the SB in the car and saved my money and drove the car.

  14. I have recently swapped my 350 with a 454 and have a question about the shroud. I know there are differant ones for SB & BB but could I cut a row out of my small block for the time being ? I will eventually run an aluminum radiator and electirc fans with no shroud at all but for now can the SB one be trimmed to fit? Thanks in advance, Phil

  16. What can I do to tighten up my steering ? I hate the floaty very loose play in my steering. I was thinking of goiong with a flaming river steering box but wanted to ask You all first. I just want to do bolt on stuff no fabricating. Thanks in advance, Phil
  17. Thank You Dennis I picked up BB brackets today. Once thats done I want to focus on a nice flaming river box and get the stgerring tighten up. Right now I hate how loose and easy the steering is.
  18. Does anyone know if my SB Power Steering pump will work on my Big Block motor if I change the brackets.

    Thanks guys. Its a very mild build on the 454 so I guess I will keep the 2.5.

    I will be upgrading my Monte from 350 to 454 very soon . I have 2.5" Exhaust with Flow Masters. Should I keep the 2.5 or will the BB need 3" ? Thanks in advance, Phil
