I suspect when you say they didn't have any manual transmissions in 72 you must be thinking about 4 speed floor [censored] units.  According to our "Resources" area here on the site there were 342 Three Speed Manual Transmissions built in 72.  It does not state they were column shifts but I would almost be willing to bet my left pinky finger none were floor shifts.

Correct. My Chevelles have 3 pedals and a Muncie, I would like to do the same with the Monte when the time comes.

  2. I think there is a tech article on team Chevelle on how to convert a factory Muncie handle to fit a Hurst base/mechanism. Ground Up offers direct bolt on handles that are a repro of the original handle, but manufactured specifically to fit a Hurst. That is the route I plan to go with my Chevelle since I do not already have a Muncie handle.

  3. Ok, so if I understand this correctly... the "tunnel" is the piece closest to the engine? And it attaches to a standard Chevelle/Malibu fan shroud? I've never really paid much attention to the fan shroud to be honest.

  4. I doubt anyone reproduces them, or am I wrong? If possible, would like to see clear pictures of an original. Even better if anyone has comparison pictures of a BBC shroud vs. a SBC shroud - that would be great. Lastly, saw it mentioned a few times... it was said a SBC shroud could be modified. Wish there was a write up of some sort on that modification.

    Thanks in advance. cool
