PAID &1,200 ON THE 1971 BODY SHOP BILL AND $1,000 ON THE 1970 BODY SHOP BILL. AND I THOUGHT 'VETTES WERE MONEY PITS!!

My Body man agrees with 7tone....around here, you can redo vinyl top for @ $750.... costs more to prep and finish for paint. But Gloss if you must paint.

talked to the body shop that has the 1970 468 MC and was told she will be out by april 15th and back to J&J Racing Engine Development for drive shaft and alt/ ps pump/ radiator. then test burn!!! wheeeeeee!

called the body man on the 1971 and told him I had to have her back by the 15th of april....he's had her since feb, 2013

I remember my uncle using the screwdriver method in the late '60's - early ''70's......very "new perspective"! lol! but, it worked then ...it'll work now. good advice IMHO

I have the 71 Monte in the body shop now and will more than likely do the swap before final paint. Just in case! One concern I had was the proverbial "Money Pit" ! (and here I thought that only applied to the Vette!) I gave $8,000 for the Monte, the new paint will run about $4,500, and I got the 468 and 400 turbo for $4,500. The swap puts me at the "point of no return"! Big Boy's Toys....don't ya love em??
If anyone has a line on the springs, driveshaft, etc. please let me know.

HAVE FLOWMASTER 40'S ON THE VETTE. SWEET SOUND TURNS HEADS AT 120 FEET! COURSE THE VETTE ONLY HAS 12 INCHES OF EXHAUST PIPE AFTER THE MUFFLER. GO WITH WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD!

I HAVE A 1971 MONTE BASE 350/ 350 TURBO, SLIGHT MODS. 84K ORIGINAL WITH 2K ON THROUGH AND THROUGH REBUILD. SHOULD I CHANGE TO A 468 W/ 540-540 CAM AND TURBO 400?? WHICH WAY BRINGS MORE VALUE? I PLAN TO KEEP THE CARFOR AT LEAST 2 GENERATIONS!! WAS GOING TO PUT THE 468 IN A 72 CAMARO SS BUT IT'S A FACTORY 350/ 4-SPEED SS. AND A UNIBODY. THE MONTE IS A FULL FRAME (SWEET) AND WILL HANDLE THE GROUND POUNDER BETTER.
ALSO, HOW MANY SUSPENSION MODS WILL BE REQUIRED? DEFINATELY OPEN TO INPUT.

MY BODY MAN CAME IN AND SHOWED ME THE CAR IN PRIMER. ALSO BROUGHT ME WHAT CAME OUT OF THE LOWER REAR QUARTERS. METAL HVAC TAPE WITH GLUE SIDE OUT WITH THIN GRAY CARDBOARD AND VERY THIN LAYER OF BONDO THEN PAINT. WHO'LDA THUNKIT?? ON A GOOD LOOKING 5 FOOT COR?
