  2. I have a performance mechanical fuel pump for my sbc 406. I have a cousin in law who has a 1970 ford torino that he put together to challenge me in a street race. My question is would it benefit me to run an electric fuel pump with the mechanical one or am I getting to greedy to bust his [censored]? Again thanks in advance for input, $.02,& 411!

  3. Earlier this year I bought a stage 3 200 4R trans from BTO and a a friend of mine was telling me that he read somewhere that the     mercon V trans fluid is great for the 200...so I was wondering if this is true or not and wanted to see what others here with 200,s run in theirs? Thanks in advance for any input, $.02, and 411!

  4. Got any pics

i got my hydroboost kit from hydratech to avoid all the issues your talkin about. some have problems uesing the T fitting some dont....i avoided that all togethert by buying a powersteering pump housing with two inlets..problem solved...only issue with that is that the pump housing came with a pump which was the wrong style pump for our monties...no biggie..jus switched out that pump for my stock pump..problem solved. rubber lines are jus fine as long as their high pressure lines..yes they will deteriorate over timed but look how long the stock hoses on your monte lasted...so thats not an issue. buying the kit was great because it came with all the fittings needed and extra ones as well. bleeding the system is easy...lift the front wheels off the ground and trun the steering wheel from lock to lock watchin the ps resivour..keep it full...do this about 25 - 30 times...then turn the car on...check for leaks and turn it lock to lock about 10 more times and your done...there will still be some air in the system that you will have to drive the car to get out..easy thing to do.

The kit cost  $900 but goin that route save headaches on the install...once installed..you will love how the brakes feel...they work great with my wilwoods on all 4 corners and now i dont hav to worry about cam selection ...and the stopping power is crazy....best upgrade ive done

almost forgot to add since i got the the resivoir with two inlets..i had to make a bracket because the stock bracket helt the pump to close to the motor and would have burned through the hoses eventually but that was the hardest part of my install so beware if you get a resivour with dual inlets but its a real easy fix tho

Do you have any pics??? curious to see what that pump looks like with dual inlets...

  5. where you have to be careful is if you get a M21 or M22, there 1st gear is a 2.20, with that you'll need a pretty deep rear gear, at least a 3.73

I have a older 3550 Tremec that has a 3.27 first gear, that's why I'm hesitant to use it with my 3.73 rear gear

    I just redid my rearend with a 3.73 and tru trac posi...are the M21 & M22 4 speeds or 5?

  6. Well currently it's still the stock 2.73 non-posi, which is OK but I'll be converting 3.42 gears w/Yukon posi in the next few months. 1st gear of the muncie is the same as the TH350 if I recall. It's no tire burner yet but the 4 speed is a blast! I've installed new carpet since this photo............

Now that is COOL!! I'm gonna have to do that to mine...3 pedal heaven!

  7. All very accurate advice from Sam, if you must have a 6-speed. Like your car, TH350 w/bench seat, I had the same and converted to a Muncie M20 4-speed and kept the benchseat (for now). A rebuilt M20, Lakewood bellhousing, new RAM clutch and Hurst shifter, rebalanced driveshaft w/new U-joints, I spent almost $2K.

What kind of gear are you running behind that M20? How does it perform? I'm thinking of keeping my bench seat as well.
