  1. Hard to cancel the reservations when the link to do so has expired and there is no phone service. Ill keep trying. has anyone had luck cancelling their reservations?
  2. I don't know that electronics cleaner will even touch that stuff. As I recall it is quite tacky and thick. Gooey
  3. mine looked about the same when I took it apart 20 years ago, but I didn't clean it up. I replaced both harnesses.
  4. If I was a "stock" guy I would sure rebuild my alternator as well. Its fairly easy and inexpensive. I know a few places here that still sell the parts to do the job yourself. As I recall the hardest part is removing the pulley.
  5. A friend of mine is like that. He has a really nice 1971 Olds Cutlass, and whenever I either offer help or suggestions he says he would rather pay someone to work on it. He refuses to tackle even the easiest jobs. I feel kind of sorry for him really.
  6. Got the oil change done and ready for the EM. All that's left is to pack
  7. Noooooo! Don't have Rob arrested! 👮‍♂️
  8. I replaced mine, and if I still have the originals I will dig them up and bring them to Somerset. Ill post up if I find them and pack them. I may have pitched them but you never know.
  9. I plan to leave in 6 days. All that's left to do on the car is a quick oil change and front end greasing. Can't wait to have the band all back together again!
  10. I think mine is a Powermaster as well, but didn't want to name the brand without looking at it first. (No, I still haven't looked at it)
  11. The do make 1 wire alternators that excite at a lower rpm. I have one such unit in my car after suffering through the lifespan of an alternator that didn't start charging until it hit 2500 rpm. Sitting in traffic was nerve-wracking to say the least.
  12. Hey, you are Jared Monte Carlo in my phone!
  13. The birthplace of Pepsi! That truly is a beautiful town, and your car only makes it that much more scenic. Gratz
  14. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you will never be done when it comes to old cars. Its part of the appeal you know.
  15. You will definitely find brittle wiring and if you are anything like me you will want to do something about that. Otherwise, go slow, take your time, and if you have to use you phone to take pics so when you go to put it all back together you have a reference to look at.
  16. Sorry to break it to you, but with the dash you just have to jump in. I have had my dash out several times working on it to the extent that it no longer seems like a difficult task. The hardest part, or the scariest, is the brittle plastic areas that the various parts screw in to. You need to really take your time putting it all back together. What I have found is that putting each of the little screws back in their original hole is your best bet for not cracking plastic stuff. Doing that is tedious, but worthwhile.
  17. Dang, if Linda had the time off work and I knew about this sooner it would have made a great side trip before the Eastern Meet. Looks like a lot of fun!
  18. When I was still using the stock wiper arms I would order replacement blades from rock auto. Once I got tired of the wipers not working well I started changing the whole blade assembly with a more modern type that actually clean the window, also from rock auto. The shipping is not too painful if you order more stuff and in my case, with 5 cars, I just order all the wiper blades at the same time.
  19. You mean West Cuba?
  20. I would take a nice lightweight hoodie if they were available. It doesn't get cold enough here for a regular jacket let alone a coat. With a hoodie you can leave it unzipped and hood down for cool nights, and zipped and hood up if you get chilly. It's a Florida thing I suppose. I don't really wear hoodies either, (mostly because I only have one, and the wife and I fight over it when the weather warrants it) but would if there was a club logo one available. Oh yeah, they also go well with shorts!
