  1. Keep it classic color. If it's a custom resto-mod, the colors are endless. I like Jay's (Red) with silver ghost flames in it. You can only see them at night ,With light on car. Also like the black cherry. Looks Black until you get right up on in. Mine is Nassau Blue 1967 Corvette color. Was factory Mulsanne Blue ('72). Really see the lines of the car with Nassau Blue.

It is sad to hear the passing of one of the great bass players. Got too see them here in upstate NY. Just about 3,000 in attendance. Man , they can get a place rockin' . They played over an hour and were taking requests! I can remember buying the cassette tape(?) And listening to the whole thing while riding in a '78 Road Runner with our new 340/4 spd and 8 3/4" 3:90 geared posi-traction. Going to play ZZTop all day in the shop and raise a glass to Dusty Hill .Live on Brother!
  3. Your factory gauge will read "hottest" because emissions back then had it turned up from the factory. It's the Autometer gauge I would go by. Where is your Autometer sender located? What degree stat are you running? I'd go -20deg.on where you want it to run. I'm running a 180degree and never gets over 200 degrees and has a lopey camshaft.
  4. Cars Inc. I've had my since '07 ,no issues. Remember, it likes Pledge or Behold at least once a month, in a shaded area and dry for at least 8 hrs.
  5. Looking like rain there now, lasting until later tonight. I'm hoping it moves out at daybreak. My fingers are crossed!
  6. Wait, wait, wait. You're not stalking them with not membership cards to get them thinking about joining? I'm looking at the forecast and not liking what I see. Shame I couldn't come up today, ( wooork!) . Did Joe make it from Buffalo? He has a nice ' 72 with a LS6 big block. Gold color ,with 17" Rally' s on it. I'm hoping that the weather isn't bad in the morning, plan on going it's descent.
  7. I know it's too late to see who is at the National's this weekend. I'm still hoping to come up and see you all there. We will not be bringing my Monte ,still waiting on parts for it. i'm checking the forecast everyday . Hope we can come up to see you.
  8. If you still have the back glass out you can install some drain tubes in the corners of your Monte.( Nice bye the way ). They are petcock pieces from AutoZone. I have them on mine and draw water from the corners when it is rained on, (Rarely) . the tubes run down to the check holes in outer trunk fender piece. I like the color of yours ? Here is a picture of mine. It's been restored since '08, no issues.. They are about an 1" from bottom of corner drilled into to the rear package tray lip. Hope this helps.
  9. My '72 had the same damage. I think they put a big block chassis under it. A pillar, B pillar damage as well. It's got the 3/8" fuel line. Nice looking'71 you got there. I also have a'65 Chevelle that's waiting for me to restore. Had it since '85.
  10. Wow! A 4 spd and Green! Awesome '70 you have there. Sorry to hear about your dad's health, we too had this happen to my father in law. It's an eye opener for anyone going through it. Just let him know his Monte will be in trusted into the family. Again, one nice '70 Monte. Those wheels really make it for me!
  11. Steve,I'm hoping to get my parts from Leo and attending the Syracuse Nat'ls this year ( fingers crossed). Even if I don't we'll be up to check it out. Miss everyone in this Club. I might even Hug you guys like John Force does!!
  12. That's right, do the wiggle test on the light switch pull knob,or turn it left and right. It's a bad contact on the stem. Or replace switch. I found mine at Napa.
  13. Bought mine from CARSINC. way back in '07. still looks like new. I'm sure others will chime in on where they bought theirs.
  14. I have the Retro-Sound front speakers. They fit great,Have not gotten to hear them yet since the dash is still out. I sure others will chime in about speakers.
  15. Looks Great!! Just in time for the rain to hit tomorrow. So, is this for the "Car Collection " section of the property? That's a lot of space for just the Camaro and the Monte Carlo. Is there more to come?
  16. I hope that you are taking your Monte Carlo to this years Mini Meet in Carlisle,Pa. in June. Looks great, always have liked those wheels. Plus your car is Red!! I wanted mine that color, but settled for this
  17. Look on YouTube. There's a kid doing engine cleaning. Learning alot about how to clean/ dress up the engine bay. They are like20 minutes long. He uses lots of different brushes. Engine and compartment looks like New!!
  18. When I lived in Michigan, That was my stomping ground for drag racing. By best friend raced his suzuki motorcycle there in the '90's( Tim Sams) . Remember when they did the factory stock racing? My boss brought his '69 427 corvette and plowed through the competition to win it. Now he's in F.A.S.T. with it and racing 1000 hp hemi's. Sad to see that track go....
  19. I ordered some from Rock Auto. We'll see if these are going to fit ,(appearance wise ). I'm wondering now if my car has some BBC stuff in it. Lines look awful close to BBC lines.
  20. Welcome to the best place to see how your SS was built!! "Nice save" as I would say. There are some members down your way. I have a goo friend in Ocala that is restoring a '72 Custom. Looks like a very good start on a SS!!
  21. Thanks guys. Napa here will not make these lines for me and I already have the swap thing from Lee manufacturing to change over house stock lines.
  22. I'm having trouble with finding the right hoses to replace my old worn out ones. The parts place sent me new ones and no way close to what I have. Going to have to do more research on this. The new Jeep steering box fits great. Just the lines now.
  23. Welcome my friend!! One Awesome Monte! Stealing my Thunder. Wanted to do that to my Monte Carlo... Great to see Blue Monte Carlo. Mine is 1967 Corvette Nassau Blue
  24. You get that trunk pan in and sealed up with sealer, Herculiner the underside and top side. You'll be miles ahead on the build. Then spatter paint the trunk. No one will tell you did anything wrong. I've had mine done for 17 yrs, and still looks like the 1st year done. That package tray has got to go !! looks rough.
  25. I'm thinking a First Generation Monte Carlo push car for roundy -roundy cars !!
