Rob,sorry to hear this about the first car you'd love to own. Maybe she'll look at it in our perspective. I bet the convertible is upwards for 20,000. I'd let her sit it out and see where the market is. Seems this appraising thing is getting way out of hand.

Ready for this mission. I guess its all apart, still have to see it to believe it. Could be trading mine (+$$$$) for it.

So, My question is ......did they make a 454 for the 1972 Monte Carlo? I going to go and see one. What am I looking at when I get there? LS5?

Rob,Try to keep in touch with the widow. She knows you would really appreciate the value way more then the next owner would know. He'll, I'm interested in the Chevrolet convertible myself.

Well Paul ,First Welcome to the club!! Sounds like a plan with the Cadillac pieces. Friend of mine was going to do a '65-'66 Nova with same options. He just bought a '72 Monte and is going with a LS motor/trans. swap. I'd think you would just have to mini-tub rear to fit those tires. Remember measure twice, cut once! Good luck with the build ,it would be different for sure!

Steel in mine since '05,From Tamaz's in Illinois. Perfect fit,and makes front end rigid.Just my 2 cents...... It's been 15 hrs and no issues. Plus Herculined on the wheel side.

That will do it!! Put them in and rock n roll!!

NOT YET!! It happened as I was going to close it. I heard a "pop" and that"s what happened. surprisingly I can close just like the pictures and nothing happens. It's in the up position(with moving blankets all over the car) until They get a hold of me. No response yet to my email and it's been a week so far. The brackets are not bent, Can't believe that. I'm hoping to call them if no answer this week.

Welcome to the Club!! Nice to another First Gen to the club! Enjoy the "smiles per mile" and also the thumbs up response you get.

Joe, I think you will find that Leo looks at all his stuff Before he ships them out. Enough said. And I hate the 2 step thing also. I put new Eddie Motorsport hood hinges on mine before the meet and now one side pooped and my hood is all sideways on the car

Just to let you know Joe, my rear bumper is from Konink's Klassik's here on our website. would be coming from Michigan. You could give Leo a shout.

Welcome to the Club!! Glad to see another '72 joining the ranks. Very nice!! Great that your coming to the first (largest gathering) meet this year. I'm sure we are going to meet and tell some stories, we'll have our "bench racing " as usual on friday-saturday night. I'm starting to get anxious now, I'll take the cover off mine this week and start to get it ready.

I ' ve seen a good cam for these BBC heavy cars .540" lift with a 218/224 Deg. Hydraulic Comp.cams would work great for your car.Lots of bottom end torque and good mid range 5500rpm (shift points).. I'd run a 2200-2400 stall converter, 3:55 rear gear ratio . The turbo 350 trans is a good choice, for the 1st gear launch. I'm going with this cam in a 427 with same heads. very nice lope it too!! I wanting to find a roller like this. I'm contacting Bullet racing cams about this in a roller. Lunati is a very good choice for cams , and if you do the ground work you will not loose a cam lobe. Attention is in the details!! ( i.e. ,Comp.Cams Beehive Springs,10 deg.locks, rollertip stamped rockers are a must on these BBC cylinder heads)... Also good pushrods. And don't forget Stellite exhaust inserts and stainless valves. Just my 2 cents........

Oh my, Another BBC Monte Carlo. Does it have the power bench seat? Looks to me someone has been in the crankcase? One nicely optioned '71. Can't believe no tach dash.

If you want free one, I have one (shipping cost only). PM me and we'll work out details. Mine is for a '72 (large push in plugs). I like the painted side to show off the car. If you go to the Eastern Meet you'll see why.... -
Boy, I guess your lookin' forward to the meet? I haven't even took the cover off mine yet. After we get back from California I'll start to get ready for the meet. Going out to see the boy, Just got back from Iraq. In quarantine right now (doesn't have anything). Driving out and back, going to see how the country is doing with the pandemic crisis. I'll make my own assumptions after we get back. Dan and I are just itching to get out and play. You just be safe and careful in the big city of Pittsburgh, and enjoy the ride in your very nice MONTE !!

Man, That is lookin' good Jared. That interior is going to make it look custom.Just asking, what do think horsepower wise is the motor? Does it have the 3:31 rear axle gear? I thought you would put redlines on it for the look......
