  1. Very nice congratulations
  2. Looks great congratulations keep up the good work and take your time stretch it several times and you will get it .good luck
  3. Wrecks don’t total cars.it’s the cost of parts and repairs that total cars.cars total at 65-75 percent of its value.most of the times it a state law and insurance companies are always going to take the most cost effective way out. How do I know 36 years in the repair business
  4. I believe you are correct it’s been a while since I did mine. I held the pieces up and determined which would require the least amount of trimming and put it in the rear and the other was able to tuck between roof skin and inner structure. Good luck
  5. I have used that exact product. On the front I was able to tuck the insulation between the inner structure and the roof skin before I applied adhesive until it fit correctly to the brace for the dome light. At that time I let it hang down from the inner structure while I sprayed the adhesive on the roof skin and the backside of insulation after a few minutes folded the insulation up and pressed into place.on the rear I started at the dome light brace but did have to do some minor trimming at the back towards rear glass. The small amount I trimmed off I was able to on the sides in the rear. I hope this helps you good luck
  6. I don’t know if this will help but I just had a similar issue on a fuel pump I had to use a 5/8-18 fitting not mnpt .i hope this helps great story and congratulations on the car and up coming wedding
  7. I can see the pictures on my phone I just have to click on each picture . Very nice
  8. Been there still doing that lol
  9. High stall is going to increase heat would consider a trans cooler .Also with that gear consider you cruising rpm on the highway at 70 mph your rpm is 3335 (15’ wheels) converter not slipping but in town driving your rpm is 2144 at 45 mph now the converter is slipping the entire time i am no expert there are many others on the site way more knowledgeable than me .i would consider a few things wheel size , cam shaft power band (general rule 400-500 rpm above your cam rating).the only reason i know this is i also am also running th400 with 3.73 gears.i would think it really comes down to what you are going to do with the car is it cruiser or a racer
  10. Welcome to the family that’s one nice Monte
  11. When I did my headliner I used dynamat to the underside of the roof panel then used 3M spray adhesive to install insulation to the dynamite worked perfectly so far. Some will say not to use dynamat type products because they believe the dynamat will release and then possibly be on top of headliner and damage headliner.i did run mine directly above the headliner bows to help insure that hopefully doesn’t happen
  12. Welcome to the family
  13. Bought a Moser rear axle assembly it did not come with bump stops welded on anyone experienced this ? If so how much trouble was it to weld on and any advice
  14. Awesome job looks great I wish I was at that point with mine congratulations
  15. I believe you are correct
  16. Welcome glad to have you as a member
  17. This is what I had to get to correct my leak
  18. I have not done any leds on exterior yet but after all the pictures of ones all the folks on here have done I am sure it’s just a matter of time. I did replace all interior lights including IP console shift indicator I thought the indicator was a little bright white not enough green so I add led green bulbs for my personal taste I like the shift indicator matching the dash a little better. I also add console ad dome lights to led all dimmable the only change I had to make was reversing the polarity on the climate controls
  19. Update on fuel pump hitting crossmember.i was able to swap to the fuel pump I had listed in a earlier post that at this time seems to have corrected my problem. I have a small leak in a fitting that must be correct but shouldn’t been be a big problem. One thing I wanted to add about my situation is that my Monte is a 1970 model with no fuel return line to gas tank where I believe that 71 and 72s have a return but in my research I had seen pumps with returns as in the post above by Scott S. I hope this helps someone
  20. I am no expert so all I can do is tell what I had to do to correct the problem I had. First thing I would ask is have you replaced carpet or added sound deadening material that has limited the pedal travel. Next thing is check to see if when the pedal is to the floor do you get to wide open throttle at the carburetor. For me I had done a engine swap and found it was my throttle cable even though it would go form a nice idle to WOT the pedal on the inside was not going completely to the floor .i believe even possibly changing carburetors may cause this problem. I was able to install a aftermarket throttle cable set the pedal when it was to the floor the carburetor was at WOT reset switch and that corrected my problem .i hope this helps good luck
  21. Welcome I am also a newer member everyone here seems to be willing to help and has already been a great resource. Very nice Monte
  22. I appreciate all responses and have considered all options. First option was electric fuel pump I had installed it in the front pulling fuel that worked for a while then had problems with the pump and found that would not work without putting it in the rear and setting the pump up as a gravity feed pushing the fuel .not really what I wanted to do at this time. Next option to try to massage the crossmember to gain clearance for the pump. Problem with that is I stupidly did not test fit engine on n frame before I had frame powder coated so at this time I don’t want to mess up the power coating. With all that said l have located a mechanical fuel pump M16011 it is a smaller diameter It does fit . It has 7.5 to 9 lbs psi with a 46 gph flow rate. The pump that came with the engine part number 6415325 is a 7 lbs psi and a 40 gph flow rate .so tomorrow I am installing it and adding a pressure regulator because the ZZ4 engine only requires 7 lbs psi to the holley carburetor. Wish me luck will post tomorrow hopefully and let everyone know how it works out hopefully this might help someone out.
  23. Anyone installed a ZZ4 engine and have the fuel pump hit crossmember . If so how did you correct it
