Great idea im gonna do that. Gotta pull carb again anyway cause studs turning ugg wasnt when installed now afrer warmed up and set a lil i was gonna put a lil thread lock on it as well

What would cause the fluctuationg fuel pressure prolly the way i have set up then..when fixed it should even that out guessin?

Sumbitch...i had it on front timed spark..ugg...different than my Vacumn sec...this has a port just for pvc in rear and i had the pvc in front ..ok easy peasy run pvc to rear. Itll look better than trans to full mani after tuned. Geeze...

So mis printed earlier. Im only getting betwixt 10 and 11 at idle.....tried 2 diff gauges and have the vacumn gauge on back of carb. Ported vac...i recently used a borscope checked cylinders showed joe...still has original bore marks. Ran comp test on all cylinders with guage..did cold tho..but all 8 were within 5 to 10 of each other highest being 190...i understand has nothing to do with vacumn per say...so what an i missing. The highest i can get in gear while tuning was around 15 per screw. But when changed to diff screws wouldnt get much higher. Seemed that should be around 20 or higher. Its running good ..starts right up..has not been timed 100 percent yet and zero vacumn leaks whats goin on

So ended up goin with these amazon deals for now before can get real lift ..so far not too bad thy are chinese. Set me back 175. Each ramp has a normal bottle jack says 5 tons im guessing if i ciuld fig out how to not slide a lil when pulling into and how to position jack under should work for what it is. But fir now i have some safety measures in play...jack stands just in case. I do like the height and that abke to get under sides. Ill let yall know soon how works for oil pan II

So here we go got the fitting 1 inch spacer had to go with drop down air cleaner wich sucks... pic with and without put new carb on so far before timing got er dialed in gear bout 13 lbs vac per idle set screw on all 4 ...fast idle bout 1000 in gear nice lobe to her but weird thing fuel press gauge bouncing the old summit was loose and rattly so replaced with this in video. Gel type deal 1st one i ever had and as i was tuning carb would even up really weird 20250529_154009.mp4

I did that that stud turned when tightened carb up 3rd time but doesent seem to be any vacumn leaks i think ill pull carb and put a scooch of thread lock on er..just to be safe

Im runnin dist off of minifold just tryin see diff and installed spacer. Havnt timed yet but runnin real nice i gonna post 3 diff deals with pics bout this lil build

So i'm replacing my carb and need to install a spacer look at the moron that put this carb on did i hope I can get this off with pb. Blaster and be able to put the new studs in with no problem. It's pretty scary.I do not want to buy a new manifold

If i do your idea. Do i need to use a jack to support trans a little or is it so small a lift it should be good?

Ok nevermind. ..i guess can be replaced with just pullin motor a scooch. Yu are right as long as the pans off might as well change. Been over 30 years prolly and she has sat for periods of a few years now and then apparently 1st gen has a 2 peice. Whew. Ill let yu know how turns out appreciate the advice

New to this posting not sure if yu got...just curious am i able to replace rear main seal if i just unbolt trans and pull moter a scooch. Or is it not worth the headache just pull it?

Yeah i was just gonna pull up an inch or so. Didnt wanna take headers off big pia ...long tube and unbolt tranny. Well see gonna do this fri but if i find rear main seal leekin then ill pull it all.
