  1. Rebuilt my 350 (now a mildly built 355). It has an Edelbrock 600 electric choke carb. It runs great, starts great. However, when I accellerate hard from a stop there is a little hesitation there before it takes off. Is this just a carb adjustment issue? Like I said, it runs excellent and has alot of power once the second of hesitation goes away.
  2. Thats what I was thinking. I currently have 2.73's in an open rear end.
  3. I am looking for a new rear end with posi for my 72. I found one for sale but have a couple questions. It is a 10 bolt with 3:42 gears and they want $370 for it. It is set up for coils and drums. Can anyone tell me if it is worth this price and if it will fit?
  4. Thanks a bunch! I actually have the assembly manual with this page in it. I paged all the way through it last week and must have overlooked this page. I am missing the support bracket (#3 in the picture). Not sure where to get one but I will have to look at year one or OPG or something. Thanks again for taking the time to get that page for me. I appreciate it.
  5. I am having troubles figuring out how the battery tray mounts on my 72. The old one I pulled out was laying on a 2x4. The new one matches the old one and I have the support bar that mounts to the fender. I also put new plastic inner fenders on. Now I cannot figure out how the tray mounts. Does anyone have any pictures I could go off of or any input? Any help would be great. Thanks!
  6. I am trying to clean some of the A/C lines and things under my hood before I put the rebuilt motor back in. Does anyone know of a good cleaner that will work on aluminum, steel, etc.?
  7. Also would you reccomend a stall converter and if so do you know one that would be good to use?
  8. Ok, so there is a heavy duty and a street strip kit from B&M. Which one will make the biggest difference without being too much?
  9. I have a 1972 monte and there is a rod about 9" long that comes out of the transmission for the linkage. The end of this rod has a spring on it and it goes into a cup type bracket bolted to the frame. I am looking for the bushing and washer that goes on the rod before it goes into the cup. Would anyone know where to get these little parts for a monte?
  10. Ok, I turned the column where the column shifter would be (I have a floor one). It did the trick, the key came out and the car now starts in park. Now, do you have any idea what I do to cure this problem ofthe column moving? You are a lifa saver. I just registered to this site today because I brought my 7th monte carlo. I am now a lifer here. Thanks!
  11. Thanks bones, could you tell me where to find that linkage? I already adjusted the linkage by the shifter on the floor under the counsel. I to see some stuff moving around near where the brake pedal on the bottom of the column when I shift it. There are 2 small screws holding a bracket which holds one or 2 switches maybe?
  12. I am having somewhat the same problem with my 1972. It has a TH350 with a floor shift. I cannot getthe key out of the ignition and also it will not start in park. I have to put it in Neutral, start it, then put it in park. When it is running in park the reverse lights on the back bumper are on also. I tried to adjust the linkage where the cable bolts to the shifter in the cab under the center counsel cover. No luck it seems to be in the right place to catch all the gear correctly. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
