  1. Upgraded the exhaust to a 3" flowmaster with super 44's. It sounded great over the phone. I gotta love that the boys over at S P Classics not only do sweet work, they also tuck it away safely back in the garage after they deliver it. I can't wait to hear it in person.
  2. I took the Monte for a ride to the feed store for some cracked corn for the critters back on the farm. Then it was off to Oyster Bay cruise night...........
  3. Yowsa........now THAT'S hot!
  4. Niiiiiiiiiiice!
  5. Having had a trailer hitch on my 1970 Monte SS back in the day. I used to tow my small block Vega with it so 2 motorcycles would be a breeze. I loved getting people to race my "Tow Car" since it was faster than the race car. Who new that that trailer hitch would now be rare. I couldn't believe that a google search did not show ANY. Looks like a custom hitch from U Haul might be an option.
  6. Thanks for the info Dave.........
  7. Hey Dave.....not to hijack this thread, but what was the cam specs on the previous cam you replaced. Damn......6 tenths on a cam change is HUGE
  8. Hopefully I will be throwing a couple of gears later as I am due for a spin in "Mom's Car"........

  15. I am thinking of swapping out my Holley 850 to a quick fuel 950 on my 1971 Monte. I checked a couple of those online carb size calculators and the results vary between an 850 and 950cfm plus Any feedback guys? motor specs 498 cu in 10 to 1 comp brodix BB2 plus CNC heads edel rpm air gap cam specs are .640 int lift .620 exh lift 230 int dur 239 exh dur 114 lobe separation dynoed at 624 hp and 634 torque 5 speed tko 500 3.73 gears

  23. I think Davey is right on the money. His desciption is basically my motor. .640 int lift .620 exh lift duration of 230 and 239 and a 114 lobe separation. Brodix Race Rite Rect Port BB 2 Plus CNC. 10 to 1 comp runs smooooooth. Good Luck on the Build. See attached link to my dyno sheet
  24. You can always go with a .070 over piston. I did that with my last rebuild. With a stroker crank it winds up at a 498 cu in. It dynoed at 624 hp and 634 torque.
