  1. I will take a look see........thanks.......Greg
  2. ATCO works for me also. If you like I can talk to my organizer to see if we can combine to get enough people to go if needed. I think he always shot for like 20 guys minimum. They had a nice secure hotel not far from the track that they rented. We went down Sunday for a Monday track rental. He always tried to get the track right after a big event where they did a good track prep. We were racing scooters in the hotel parking lot drinking beer like old times.
  3. I have an off idle deadspot on my 850 with mech secondaries. Anyone have this same issue? I thought it was resolved when the locked accelerator pump on the secondaries was replaced. Apparently I thought wrong. I thought about just swapping to a quick fuel carb. Any thoughts?
  4. I may take you guy's up on that. When do you do your track rental? Alot of the guys that I went with are now dropping out so unless we get more slow cars to sign up.............. Most of these guy's were deep into the 10's and now that the track is teching all the car's........ no roll bar.....no racing. I have one of the smallest motors of the bunch. They like us, do not want to cut their car up. The only month's I can't go are July and August as that is my busy time and cannot leave. I think I slipped away from the Beach once this past Summer to check out the Cedar Beach cruise where I saw you and Scott. Maybe I will have cutouts to try by then. First one to 11.5000000 get's a chicken dinner
  5. I happen to like muscle cars and have had many in my time. From V 8 Vegas to Hurst SCramblers. I happen to live at the Beach where I own a few rental properties and some stores. We are required to drive either 4 wheel drive or All wheel Drive vehicles. I debated getting either one of those Hot Rod Jeeps or a Trailblazer SS. What sold me on the Subaru was that it had all this room for carrying stuff, got great gas mileage, was cheap, and could be made from 185whp to 400whp with a stock block. I was sold on turbos early on. In 1987 I had a Dodge Colt with a turbo. I swapped on an intercooler from a Saab, turned the boost up to 20 lbs and slapped on the nitrous. This thing went 14.05 at 103 mph all day long. I actually won the Street class that day. The bottom line is I like straight line performance and have respect for anyone who can get the job done.
  6. The Monte went a best of 11.94 @ 116 takin it easy because I just got the motor freshened the week before. The Subaru went a best of 12.96 @ 108 rolling it out of the hole (because of the stock clutch and trans).
  7. I finally uploaded my crappy quality vid to youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvUPW7Dz1eE&feature=youtube_gdata
  8. Hey Andy (or anyone else in the Southeast).....If you need/want VP Fuel my cousin Mark Klein in Ft Lauderdale is the Southeast Distributor
  9. Thanks for the feedback guys. It sounds like it's right around a 2 tenths and 30 hp loss.
  10. Torque Tech still has every thing but the 3.5" tailpipes.
  11. Thanks for all the info. It always helps to find out what works and doesn't before you do it. So I guess from what you are saying, the tailpipes fit but they restrict the ride height of the rear? My car sits lower than yours so they might not fit anyway.
  12. I spoke the dude yesterday and he said it took 2 years to sell 25 sets so it wasn't worth getting them made anymore.
  13. I checked out your pics. Those 3.5" tailpipes look great. Too bad they are discontinued.
  14. Yes I have 3.5" collectors and yes I would just use the current system ............unless someone local wants to buy a perfectly good aluminized 2.5" flowmaster system.......then I would be forced to go to the 3.5" system. Anyone use torque tech?
  15. I did get to go in September. I just had the motor freshened up literally the week before and took it a little easy as to not grenade the thing before the ink was dry on the check. It ran a best of 11.94 at 116 with a 1.81 60'. Car hooked good but I was short shifting it. All was fine till the belt flew off pounding that imaginery gear between 3rd and 5th on a tremec. No one told me about that quirk in the tremec trans until after that happened. I had to stop running both the cars I brought since I only had one trailer..........bummer....
  16. It sounds like I should just go with the 3.5" electric cut outs and call it a day. Any brand recommendations?
  17. Thanks..........and don't call me shirley
  18. I was contemplating the Torque Tech exhaust. I spoke to the guy and he said they were not making the 3.5" tailpipes as there was very little demand. I guess I could always use 3" tailpipes. I was just curious as to "real world" difference in performance as I regularly cruise with the car and the closest track is a million miles away. West Palm looks awfully good right about now. But I digress. I don't particularly like open exhaust and thought that the 3.5" would be the best of both worlds (As your test proves) Just trying to justify replacing a perfectly good exhaust.................thanks for the input.....Greg
  19. Has anyone been to the track and done some back to back runs? Just curious to see how much hp loss there is. I have a 498 (624hp) going through a 2.5" flowmaster system to the bumper. .............thanks......Greg
  20. My car came with solid mounts and I was surprised at the lack of vibration.
  21. Hey Steve............good call on Muscle Car Hq...........I picked up the molding last night. You would never know that place was there. When I looked inside I thought it was an episode of Hoarders. The dude said to tell you he said Hi.....thanks again
  22. Thanks Steve.........will do
  23. "The Parts Place" has been out of stock for a while. If I remember correctly, the botton piece may not be right but I can use it on the top. I got the "Hockey Sticks" from the dude who makes them. They will be the nicest piece on my car.
  24. 1971 Aluminum Head Big Block, 5 speed tremec, bench, no ac, factory radio delete, steel wheels and trunk with 3 parking lot chairs, snack table, jump box etc. 3840 lbs without me.
