I also would like to see that picture. I have a bunch of those pcs and if I remember I have one or two that are different in the middle. Always thought that 70 and 71 were different on the lower pc because of a larger notch.

I was just told today by Jim Boczar that the color is Dove Gray. I did a search and found Plastikote #364 is Dove Gray.

If your radio is stock, then it is a 10 OHM. You need to use 10 OHM speakers. The new speakers are 4OHM and will work a while but they will damage the radio. This is what Pioneer told me and alot of other people.

That is correct. My 71 has the red.

My S.S. is the same size as the hood insulation. Held up with automotive screws and small chrome door edge trim all around the raw edge. Each screw goes to where the insulation push ins would go. No extra holes. Car is driven and never had any problems with running HOT. Sorry no pictures. Need someone to help me with that. Carl

The itchy side faces the engine. I like the finished side facing the engine. I wish someone comes out with the OEM style. I talked to Hinshaws a few years ago at Carlisle and he said it was in the works. I have Mirror Finish Stainless Steel under my hood for the finish look. Carl

I was just on the Team Chevelle Site and read a post about the difference in Monte and Chevelle tanks. They are saying the filler necks are a different length. I just bought a stainless tank through Ground Up and didn't even mention Monte Carlo and just ordered a 1970 Chevelle tank for my 71 Monte.Don't want the emissions. Have a steel tank in storage that I bought years ago. Again Chevelle. I trust Leo's statement.

I'm still looking. The stainless tanks are a stock replacement.

They are only going to sell a few of those grilles for the Monte. That is why the price will be higher. The club will be their best customer.

Check the capacity. You might want to check Tony's Toy Box. He used to work for Ausleys. He was at Carlisle and he is selling gas tanks made out of Stainless Steel. I think the price was 229.00 and made in USA. They were not passing out Catalogs, so my info might be a little off. Carl

TB The part number is 1646. Called 70-71 lower panel molding extension. The pair go for 58.70 in the 2006 Catalog. Those are the lower ones. The upper ones are for the SS. Only Larry makes them. Read the other posts on this topic.

Only buy the long center pc from the parts place. The "hockey sticks" are not very good. They are made out of Alum. and don't fit very well. Buy the real deal from www.trimparts.com you will be happy. Its only money and its for your Monte. I want a set of the upper hockey sticks. I was planning on posting it tonight. I'm going to try to make a set out of the lower ones. Carl from CT.

Ian. Thanks. I have the formula but I need to know how many teeth are on that drive gear. That means I will have to open the tranny. I guess I'll have to wait. There are too many combos.

Can anyone tell me how many teeth are on the drive gear inside the 400 transmission? This is the gear that drives the speedometer gear. I'm trying to figure out what speedometer gear I need for a combination of a 350 engine, 400 tranny and 3.31 gears. I gave up years ago and got it close enough. Now they have all the right gears. There are 13 different gears listed in the NPD Catalog. Thanks Carl from Connecticut
