  1. I must be the guy with all the computer problems here About 4 days ago pics in posts are not viewable on my phone, but not all of them, seems mostly the people using photobucket as their host. Maybe its just a problem with my phone & isolated to me, but I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem with their mobile devices too.
  2. I decided to share some of my stash. I will only sell 4 of these, & will keep the other 4 for myself. The best 2 I am keeping for myself, the other 6 are for sale & have various prices according to their condition, the 2 out of this 6 that dont sell I will keep. I cleaned these up & repainted the black. I will make a post in the for sale section also. Please PM or call me if interested, thanks Cory 517 206 6980 link to pics of ones for sale http://s1295.beta.photobucket.com/user/CKZ03/library/CUSTOM%20EMBLEMS%20FOR%20SALE
  3. Smart move, the 72 is very attractive IMO
  4. WOOO HOOO!, thats great, good for you! Im sure a little celebrating was in order
  5. Seemed kind of interesting to me, I didnt get to see the inner workings first hand but I was told there are no clutches & springs & stuff like a normal limited slip. It has some kind of worm gear set up that locks up & has no slip (mechanical engagement) once engaged. Truly a full locking rear, to an extent, but maybe some others here know or have experience with these in their own cars & could give a real life review. Im certainly not a rear end expert, just what I was told about what is installed in my car.
  6. This is a 2012 Mopar color, paint code is "PRP", (I KNOW) but hey I like it. Its called deep cherry crystal pearlcoat. It does have some very nice metallic/pearl to it, unfortuneately it doesnt show up very well in pics, looks great outside in the sun though. The true color & metallics are not represented very well in this pic, but you get the general idea.
  7. Still doing wiring, no sense boring you with more pictures of a wiring mess. Had to get my left fender out of the vault so I can mount it & my inner fender well for wire routing purposes. Going to be hiding the wiring for the front lighting behind & inside fender best I can. In process of rewireing the entire car with AAW's Monte kit. Here is a sneek peek of my color though, of course pictures never do any justice as far as paint & color, but close enough. On all this stuff I keep buying, they keep spelling Monte Carlo wrong, makes me wonder if the contents of these instructions are even correct
  8. I running the same engine, trans, & 12 bolt as you. I purchased an Eaton Tru-Trac locking rear with 3.55. Could not tell you how it performs as Im still building the car. The 3.55 seemed like a good gear for how I intend on driving it. The Eaton Tru-Trac was suggested to me by my local rear end specialist and was quite affordable. You should call them, their prices blow away most internet deals & they can get you anything you want & Im sure they will ship -Advantage Driveline, Jackson Michigan (517) 768-8940.
  9. I got a few notifications this weekend but the last 3 days I had several PM's without.
  10. That really looks great, massive freakin tread there. Im assuming you will be modifying the wheel houses too? Changed the rear shock angle? Hard to see some of it, the pics are really dark.
  11. Yes, but isnt the CUSTOM part of the emblem cast right into the tail end of the Impala? Im pretty sure its connected and the two words are one casting, or maybe thats a different year Im thinking of. Yep, both word are cast as one, check this one out http://www.ebay.com/itm/71-72-73-74-75-7...n-/230931006173 These are not the same, but look nice, not sure of the dimensions http://www.impalas.com/1968-chevy-impala-custom-front-fender-emblems-pair/t2717.html

  13. I thought about contacting you Robert about this, as I thought you encountered a similar situation installing yours, but remembered you were deleting your AC set up, so I figured you might not have investagated this with AAW. I wound up using the orange electric cooling fan lead to supply power to my blower motor/AC relay, seemed like the most logical & easiest option. The orange wire they tell you to use is for a non AC set up & is not fused nor connected to 12v unless you jump or splice to 12v, which I'm assuming this connection is made through the original non AC connections on back of heater controls. So in my application it seemed best to use an alternative fused supply. I also used the ignition swithced ECM feed for power to electric choke. It really is nice to have so many options available on both sides of the firewall for adding almost anything imaginable. I'm still going to call AAW, they really should put SOMETHING in their literature for guys running factory AC.
  14. Ya, I dont think thats going to fit under a stock hood, LOOKS AWESOME Sent you a PM Carl.
  15. Got my engine harness & some of the front lighting harness wired up. Was stumped for half the day because American Auto Wire's kit I am using makes no provisions for a factory A/C car, no instructions or suggestions how to tie in power to blower motor relay. After looking at several wiring diagrams and decifering how the entire A/C system controls & supporting relay, switches, resistors, etc. actually function and work together as a system, I came up with my own solution to the problem. If it wasnt Sunday I could have just called their tech support and got alot more done today A little info in their instructions would have been very helpful, I guess they figure no one has A/C

Heres me & my oldest son "Sully" when he was about 1 1/2 years old, currently he is 3 1/2. I have 2 sons now, Aiden, my second, is 16 months old. Pictures are from March or April 2011. I have only been working on this car during the winter months, CAUSE THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO DO, cold, dark Michigan winters, they are great. He loves getting into daddys tools & stuff. Im sure I will be building more cars in the future with both my sons, and fixing the ones they will most likely be wrecking too. This car Im actually building for Sully, when he is old enough and has enough experience, can appriciate & respect it. I want to get them both involved in classic cars, teach them about cars & all that good stuff. If I have any rattles & squeaks when my car (his car) is finished, Im pretty sure I know who to blame it on
  17. Or modifying a stock hood, here is a prime candidate in your neck of the woods. Dont get much cheaper than this, and it looks pretty nice http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/pts/3551616346.html
  18. Working in the body business I have access to some parts "cheap" that most people could never get there hands on. I was looking through some parts on one of our aftermarket parts suppliers website & came across a deal that seemed to good to be true, a gas tank for 72 Monte Carlo & Chevelle for $38, yes THIRTY EIGHT DOLLARS . I was a little bummed out cause I just paid over $100 for mine. Several of the guys I work with are all building cars, one of them needed a tank for a 72 Chevelle. We decided to order one of these tanks just to see if it was of good quality (how could it be for the price?). So it showed up this week and to our surprise it was actually a very nice tank. That immediately prompted everyone one else in the shop to want to order one. Upon ordering the second one our supplier "Keystone" said they were out of stock, imagine that, good things just dont last. Anyway we are going to keep on trying to get them once they are back in stock. I may be able to help a few people out in my area, if I can get my hands on some more. They are $38 plus tax to my door step, no shipping, freakin' crazy cheap. Heres some pics of what we got, I was just trying to make sure I got the part # for future reference & totally forgot to get a pic of the tank itself. If anyone here also has access to purchase Keystone parts at cost, it would certainly be worth checking into.
  19. Actually it took GM 2 years to correct their prior mistakes, fine tune and dial it in to create the best year, which of course is the 1972
  20. Tom, glad you could join us!
  21. There is a direct to metal 2 part seam sealer available with corrosion resistant properties built into it too. But putting down either some epoxy or etch prime is always a good thing to do regardless, we want these cars to last another 40+ years. Of course gasoline probably wont exist 40 years from now and they will all be converted to electric or nuclear cars by then. Check out my Big Battery 454 mega-amp elecric motor SS
  22. I used to get emails to let me know when I have a PM, I stopped getting them about a month ago. Nothing has changed in my profile or preferences (that I know of), I have "send email notifications for PM's" checked YES. Anyone else having this problem & can somebody please check it out for me? Or let me know where I screwed up at. My opologies to everyone that has had to wait for days for me to return their messages, I just dont know unless I log in.
  23. Installed my new condenser, my original had a hole in it. Re-vacuum tested AC system, no leaks, Im good to go Will be charging up the system soon. This is the condenser I wound up getting for a replacement, figured I may as well change the dryer too. Good quality piece, had to tweek things a bit as with most aftermarket stuff. http://www.ebay.com/itm/230692915698 Now its back to the spaghetti, I mean wiring
  24. Im buying as soon as I hear we are getting a discount Thanks for checking it out for us Scott. Hope we can get a few more members on board.
