I have 2 inch drop spindles and I'll be using tires that are a little over an inch smaller in diameter all up front. In the rear the wheel combo will have a reduced height of 1 3/4 inches. I'm looking at doing coil overs there. With the coil overs in the rear I have about 3 inches of adjustments to level up the rear with the front.

Hello everyone!
I’m still accumulating parts for my resto mod and started researching for improved interior lighting ideas. Has anyone here added lights to their car and would be kind enough to show them? I’m thinking of adding a brighter /different dome light and something in the sail panels. I have already added rear foot well lights from my new front seats. There are lights on the back shell that shine down.

Ever think about converting to a hydro boost? Install is not that bad. Its a good trade for better brakes, takes up less room and doesn't rely on vacum for operation. You can run as big as a cam as you want. Check this article out.
As you can see the booster is just a little bigger than the master cylinder. Here is another members Monte with a hydro boost.

I looked at mine and I don't see where you would be missing anything. Mine fits up closer than yours does. I think you might be a victim of mass production. Yours may have just been cut with more material taken off, there for a larger gap. I'm sure there will be others with more experience chiming in soon

Of all of you that have chimmed in so far, how many of you are running roller cams?

I came close to getting those seats but during my research I read several posts that say they are small and some of the bigger guys felt cramped in them. Since I didn't know of any one with them, I went with the Challenger seats since I had sat in them before. Your seats do look good. Almost like they were always there from the factory.

Is that console from the same MC as the seat?

I'm not a hundred percent sure but dont the Chevelle and the Monte Carlos have the same bolt mount pattern far as the dash goes?

Check this dash out in a Chevelle, bottom left pic

Do to hunting season, time with the family, Christmas, New Years and being busy at work, I didn't get the heads done till last week. First I had to end up buying a new set of EX valves that were stock length. The ones that were recommended to me ended up being too long. They were .100 over stock. With the longer valves there was too much shimming or keeper adjustment to do for my spring set up which had an install height of 1.950 Also the rocker arm geometry was off with the valves at the taller height. In the end with the stock length valves on the EX and .100 longer on the INT everything worked out. The following is what I ended up using;
Retainers
Del West super 7 titanium
Springs
Crane electro polished 96883
Intake
Valve- .100 over stock length
Locator- .040 thick
Exhausts
Valve-stock length
Locator- .060 thick
The cam I'm running has a lift of .650 on the Ex and .625 on the Int. Valve and seal clearence is good and there is plenty of room with this cam.

Got my new locks in 4 days. Locks are good now!

I finished lapping all the valves tonight. No issues and as stated, took a short time to get a nice fit.

With just a trany swap it would not only improve MPG but help with off line performance as well with out changing the rear gears. In other words not alot of work involved. The swap can easily be done in a day. I have swapped several trannies in my Monte but never a 200. I've done one 350 two 400s and a 700.I currently have a 4l80 ready to go in. Since I have never done a 200 I'm not sure of the OAL but I'm guessing that the drive shaft will need to be altered.

In the next couple of photos I'm showing the valve to seat fit. All I did was use some layout die and rotated the valve in the seat few times without any lapping compound. As you can tell from the photos they will need very little work to have them fitted properly.

I bought locators for the springs. I also figured that I will need a set of shims to get the correct seat pressure. I am going off pressure instead of install hieght for the seat set up.

I double checked and I got them right side up. I then got a hold of Dell West and it looks like they sent me locks for valves with a tip length of .300 and I have .250. Is the .300 length the norm for the performance world and titanium retainers? This is the first HI Po motor I've built so I don't know. They said they will send out a new set right away so it looks like I've gotta wait a few more days again before the 489 comes to life. Note to future self, verify valve tip length! Thanks for the input guys.

Other nice to know stuff;
Exh port raised .400
Heads are angled plugs
Spark plugs NGK R5671A7 4091
Head gasket Fel Pro 1017
Intake gasket Fel Pro 1275
If there are any specific questions I can answer for any one let me know. I can also take more pics if you want me too. It will be a week or 2 before I have all the stuff gathered up to put the heads together. At that time I'll post on the assembly and how it went.

Yes I am installing 2012 Challenger front and rear seats with the center console. My car is no where near done so it doesn't look that great with the new seats setting in there.
