  1. Does anyone know where I can purchase a new chrome reproduction OEM factory style driver side remote mirror for a 72? My original mirror needs to be replaced.
  2. I went ahead and order the front buckets and the rear seat covers from Legendary. Legendary said it would take 8 weeks for me to receive the seat covers. They actually make the seat covers after you place your order. All, thank you for the info.
  3. I want to replace my front bucket and rear seat covers. I took my car to a couple of upholstery shops and there prices seemed crazy to me, can't see why there prices are so high to just replace seat covers. I was wondering if anyone has replaced there bucket and rear seat covers and if it was hard or easy. also is there any instructional book or DVD I can purchase to assist me in replacing the covers.
  4. Leghome, thank you, no worries, I was able to come-up with a solution after thinking about and looking at how the speaker needed to be positioned. After the stereo shop had cut up the speaker bracket to make the speaker fit. The rear speaker magnet cut the cable on the Dakota Digital Tach Gauge that I had installed. After having the gauge repaired and thinking about it I went to Lowes and purchased to simple clamps. I cut then bent both of them to what I needed to hold the speaker in-place and to also provide me the clearance for the magnet and the tach gauge. So cutting the "speaker bracket" and the "speaker(metal frame around the speaker)",is unnecessary I just replaced the speaker bracket with two simple clamps that cost me 60 cents for both. I'm going to try and post some pictures.
  5. Leghome, Do you think you could post some pictures of The Kenwood speaker mounted in the left bracket? I purchased a set of the Kenwood 4675-C speakers. But when I took my MC to have my stereo system installed by a local stereo shop they accidently destroyed the bracket when they tried to cut it to make the new speaker fit. Now I'm in need of a new left front speaker bracket. I'm going to also need the other smaller brackets that connect to the speaker. I'm in the process of trying to acquire a replacement left bracket. I just wanted to see how you mounted your speaker. Thank you.
  6. Murphy, Thank you for the information on the overflow tank and for posting the pictures.
  7. I would like to install and after market Radiator overflow tank. But before I purchase one I wanted to know if anyone has installed the stainless steal tubular type sizes 2X13, 2X15 or 2X17 that you normally find for sale on EBay. I was looking in my engine bay and around the radiator and was trying to figure out where it would mount. If anyone has and have some pictures you could post I would appreciate it.
  8. I meant the chrome molding just to clean the years of oxidation off of them.
  9. I would like to clean and polish the window/vinyl top molding before I re-install them on my car. anyone have any suggestion on the best way to accomplish it without damaging the molding?
  10. I just order the Custom emblems, thanks again.
  11. Does anyone know where I can purchase two Custom emblems that are located on the sail panel/roof. I found a site on EBay that sells them but I wanted to see if there were other companies that sold them.
  12. Guys, Thank you for the information.
  13. I'm in the process of upgrading the stereo system in my car. I would like to find some aftermarket front dash speakers that will fit without much modification if that is possible, any suggestion's?
  14. Monte 70car, After doing some troubleshooting I was finally able to find the problem. It turns out when I had my car paint, I also removed the engine and had the engine bay painted. After cleaning the paint from around all of the grounding points it fixed the problem. Thanks again for all of your help.
  15. When I pull the headlight switch inside my car and turn the key forward towards the start position, the left turn signal light indicator on the dash lights up and the leftfront park lamp/turn signal will not come on. when I move the turn signal lever to the left position the park light comes on. None of the turn signals are working. The front headlights, rear lights and marker light are working. I have been troubleshooting and I found a couple of things and corrected them but I haven't been able to fix's this problem. Do anyone have any suggestions or have had a similar problem like this before? I have just installed/re-wired the car with a American Auto wiring kit.

  17. Another question, on page 3 of the Dakota VHX-70C-CVL installation guide, it states to connect the 3-pin wire harness into the clock and refer to the included VLK 6530360 manual for wiring instructions. I have read the instructions and nothing tells you how and what to connect the wiring harness for the clock. How and what did you connect the harness for the clock too? The instructions are very vague
  18. Monte 70car, Good evening, quick question, where did you mount your brain/control box for your Dakota gauge kit? I was looking for and area to mount mine. The area that the radio is in doesn't have a lot of room.
  19. Yeah, after sitting down and giving it some thought, A/C was a option back then, all the wiring harness were designed for non-A/C cars, and then if customer ordered their car with A/C, the A/C harness was added and integrated with the stock harness (A/C feed wire/connector). I also went and looked at the original harness that I removed from the MC and it has the same connector. I believe the connector is not used and just stored. I just wish AAW would have stated in the installation manual, if you have factory A/C the plug would not be used. Also thanks for the help again, I never wired a entire car before, so please bare with my questions I'm almost done. Also please call me Al. Thanks again.
  20. Monte 70car, after thinking about it, I think the three prong connector doesn't connect to the current heater switch because I have factory A/C. The three prong connector is actually for a car that doesn't have a/c. The only connector that must be installed is the single brown wire/connector.
  21. I tried to upload pictures but the site is not working right at this time.
