Sam, I was always under the impression that you could access everything by pulling the transmission. Is the way you described more efficient in your opinion?

I think I need to have my real main seal replaced. Does anyone have any idea how many hours a mechanic is going to hit me to change this? It has the 400 auto transmission.

I finally got to drive mine. I put 120 miles on it yesterday and was getting lots of thumbs up from drivers everywhere. Now I have some oil leaks. You would think that a car that had been resting since 1985 would not have the nerve to develop a leak! Looks like rear main seal. GRRRR.

I put on the new windshield wiper motor, new windshield washer reservoir, windshield wipers and plumber it all with new rubber lines. bring on the rain!

Good morning fellow mc lovers. My 72 front seat needs to be recovered. I have the build sheet. It shows Trim as 735. In block 80, it shows SADL. In area 107, where a lot of things are listed, it shows A52 bench seat. On the trim tag under the hood, it shows TR 735A52. Do any of these tell the color that was used for seat?

I nearly finished the disc brake conversion, removed the gas tank and tried to straiten up around the car. Lots of tools, old bolts, etc. laying around. Now it is organized so I can get back at it after church tomorrow.

I bought a kit from summit. I believe it was $355. rear only. I hope to get started on it sunday afternoon.

I am getting ready to do a disc brake conversion on the rear of my 72 and will have to remove the rear end cover. What oil should I use when reassembly? Anything else I should check for while in there? Thanks.
