  1. Thats interesting , I would like to see it and find the serial number and a few other things unmentionable about that car.

    I am still looking though.

  2. Jared:

Glad that you made it home ok. That was some load of parts. I see that you have a lot more parts than I do ! Good luck getting your car on the road , I know the amount of work involved.

    Harris:

Thank you for the search. I was wondering about that. I do not know if I will ever see that car again. It was a nice very loaded car. Thank you again for the work.

    Silver streak:

You may be right that the car is parted out , it had a lot of options , some rare ones too.

As far as I can tell the car has not been registered recently. I know that NJ where I came from does not keep cars on a list more than 5 or so years.

Thank you all for your attention. All I can do is keep hopeing.

  3. Hi Guys:

Still here and looking for the car. I haven't heard anyone seeing anything like my car yet.

The car was triple green with console and buckets.

Thank You for all the attention.

  4. Yeah , as Nate said the first digit in the stampings for the serial number on the engine and trans is 1 for Chev 2 for Pontiac 3 for Olds 4 for Buick and 6 for Cadillac.

These do change sometimes but are generally correct.

    Hope this helps

  5. Hi:

You also must change the emergency brake cables, the one that attaches to the floor and the e brake pedal and also the middle cable that connects the two rear cables. If you don't the cable will rub right on the driveshaft u joint, not very safe.

    Hope this helps

  6. Hi:

To put a 700R4 in a Monte, I think you will need a 350 crossmember and driveshaft and a harness for the lockup converter. You must also go to www.700r4.com for info on set up of the TV cable. If not set right this could burn up the trans. For the shifter, Shiftworks makes the detents for the stock shifter to properly select gears.

    Hope this gets you started.
