That new compound may say DOT...but it is intended for track use only. They have a drag racing class based around the 275/60r15 "DOT" and those tires are produced to be the closest thing to a slick and still fit within the rules. Not recommended for street use. The "old style" would be better suited for street use, but still wouldn't want to be caught in the rain with them lol

Love the glass....going to have to start a new savings fund for that upgrade on mine

Looking great...keep it up..the clock is ticking

Check with Dan's 70 z20...he had his rebuilt to handle 134 by a company in Florida...I'm sure there are others out there as well as updated non-original looking ones

Looking awesome...question on the glass...is it actually smoked glass, or the window tint film? If it is smoked glass, where did you get it?

The original systems use a POA valve, not an orifice tube. Same function, but much bigger and bulkier. If you look buy the a/c box in the engine compartment, you will see a rectangle block with 2 lines, and has what looks like a disc on top. There is also a capilary tube that is wrapped around one of the tubes and secured with a sticky rubbery mess...I'm sure there is a name for it..but I have no idea lol

Moving right along...keep it up..looking good

Linky no worky...and I'm not smart enough to figure out how to make it work lol

I would think not, but I'm sure it will say what oil to use in the paperwork that comes with it, or call the tech line...no sense taking a chance

From what I understand, there is a company in Florida that re-works the POA valve to work with the r134a. Get in touch with Dan ...i want to say his screen name here is Dans 70 z20...he is going through the set up now on his restoration

Mine is all original and there was nothing but some body color and trunk paint over spray. So my answer is a thin coat of surface rust
I've got plenty of surface rust, guess i don't have to order the paint..woohoo lol
