Get a hold of Al M .. he just went through this...upgraded to a bolt in ford 9"

That's purty right there!!

Come to the dark side Davey lol
Thanks for the input Andy, and everyone else. The most I'll be shooting is 150, just would rather be on the safer side. I know the "recommended" jetting is always a lil rich to safe, I've just thought myself in a circle worrying about the fuel supply lol
-
Wow...didn't know that about the pcv..makes perfect sense though....
-
I haven't heard that about the Magnaflow...interesting. I want to do this once, do it right and note have to play with it again....I know....wishful thinking lol
-
Well...the pump is still a decision to be made. I have been looking at the Magnaflow stuff, and I like the regulator they offer. According to the descriptions, it it dosen't allow as much of a pressure drop when the solenoid is activated. I was hoping to stay with the 3/8 feed line, but them more I look into it, the more it looks "boarderline" to be enough. I will probably never go bigger then the 150 shot since it is the numbers matching block and I don't want to push it too far. I am trying to err on the side of caution as well as not totally blow up the budget lol

So, one of the winter upgrades will be the fuel system. I will be going with an electric pump and all the goodies. My question is, running a 150 shot sniper system....whats the best way to set it up? I'm thinking pump to 2 port regulator. One line to the carb, the other to the solenoid. Been looking around, and see people running 2 regulators...deadhead regulator for nos and return regulator for the carb... single regulator split to carb and solenoid...deadhead for both...return style for both... ..soooooo many opinions out there...I'm sooo confused lol

While mine is not a custom...it's pretty darn close...it's a "w"code 454 special order black, loaded, cloth bucket a/c, p/w, p/l, cruise.and so on. I am actually curious to see how many other "w" code "loaded"cars are out there. And, while I have been slowly modifying mine to my liking, I have kept everything that has come off...just in case lol

Hmmmm...to be prepared (because I cant remember exactly by year) 13,15 and 18mm....and possibly a t55 torx......and a little propane torch to heat the caliper mounting bracket bolts t melt the locktite if you plan to change the rotors

Ughhhhh...my blowing up my tranny does not look so bad now.....that hurts...

Huh?
Art Carr 200-4R for 750 HP + = $2695
TCI TH400 SuperStreetFighter 750 HP + & Gear Vendors OD = $4355
What am I missing?
was looking at the th400 numbers alone vs the 4l80e....The gv unit would be down the road...and at this point..still bouncing everything around...including the time the car would be laid up to pay for all this lol...it's my stress relief so I don't want to have it laid up through next summer. hahaha

lunati voodoo 262/268 @50 219/227 lift 530/542 lsa 112/108 1400-5800rpm
1.7 roller tip rockers
eddy rpm air gap
pro systems carb...850 i believe..mech secondaries
msd 6al with msd dizzy
The block was decked at some point before I got it so I have no idea what is in it (any easy way to figure that out)
Can't remember the heads, but they are not the "peanut ports"..i want to say 049..I'll have to yank a valve cover and check
th400...again..unknow..but junk now lol (2200-2400 stall)
3:42 rear....The posi unit is worn out....open to ideas (crossed the stripe at 5500-5600 rpm if I remember correctly)
255/60r15 drag radial...due to be changed, so again, open to idea
NOS Sniper system... set to 100 but can go up to 150
The priorities right now, first the trans, then rear....not opposed to a cam swap in the future, and I need to upgrade the fuel system before spraying.
Main use is a fun street car....usually less then 40 miles at a clip..if that much, but on track day...I want as much as I can reasonably get out of it.
Have at it boys....any and all opinions welcome

Just for the street driving on the overdrive...one of those "would be nice to have" kinda things. Today, I am thinking the th400 with the mysterious "lower gear set"(still don't know the specs on that) and bump up to a 3:73 rear(may change by tomorrow lol). End of the day, I run a 12.72 now, thinking with the trans and rear change...and the 100shot I'll be in the 11's. I need to dig out my cam card and stuff and post up all the specs. I may be out of my mind...but I think it is obtainable.....while still being able to take the kids for ice cream lol

WOW!!...Holy sticker shock batman.....didn't realize there was such a price difference between a 400 and an overdrive....we may just have to reign in these great ideas I keep having. We will have to see how the wallet is feeling come March/April lol. As much as I'd love to do the 4l80...it's looking like the 400 and a gear vendors to be added when finances are available lol
-
I kinda shy away from the 200 and 700....no real research on my part..but usually hear people having problems with them. My initial thought was a 4l60 or 4l80...but the research is just begining lol. Along with the trans blowing up, the posi unit is worn out...so that will be getting an upgrade as well...thinking of going to a 411 gear as well. Im hoping with these upgrades and a 100 shot..ill be in the 11s with the rest of the guys around here lol

Unless you get adjustable upper arms there is no way there is enough factory adjustment to bring them straight again. To bring the camber positive you need to remove shims between the control arm and the frame....there are only so many in there to begin with.

no...wait....the 502 sleeper that was on ebay...like a cream yellw...7inch rallys with white walls??
