  1. Mike...yes the tail shaft housing gts replaced by the GV adapter then the gv unit bolts to the adapter and im getting my drive shaft shortened...they do not sell drive shafts...that's on you to get done. but your assumption is correct.

Murphy...im running a th350 but they offer adapters for just about any rear wheel drive tranny gm makes....when you order it jus tell them what trans, rear gear, and tire size your running and they send you what you need. I think the gv unit woud be very fun with a stick..

I will be sure to update this post as the install goes...

  2. so mu gear vendors unite arrived last Friday but I didn't get started working on it till Monday....keep in mind that per their instaliation instructions...a gm A body is the only gm  vehicle where tunnel mods are necessary (ie banging on the tunnel to clear). I found out real quick that laying on your back banging on a tranny tunnel is not fun at all and is also a long process so I decided to cut the tunnel...that way I get to do a lil welding later on...anyway heres some progress pics to where I am so far

then I had to get creative cuz that unit is very heavy,,,heavier than a starter around 35lbs

too bad I will have to take it backout to weld up the tunnel and paint the under side of the tunnel but ive figured out how to get it in and out without the hoist...still trying to figure out a way to get around taking it out to paint the metal patch...might jus paint it before I weld it in

here the unit is installed and tranny mount back in place...their customer service is great. I called because the speedo cable will hit the brace and they are gonna send me a 90* elbow adapter for free...

  3. i got my hydroboost kit from hydratech to avoid all the issues your talkin about. some have problems uesing the T fitting some dont....i avoided that all togethert by buying a powersteering pump housing with two inlets..problem solved...only issue with that is that the pump housing came with a pump which was the wrong style pump for our monties...no biggie..jus switched out that pump for my stock pump..problem solved. rubber lines are jus fine as long as their high pressure lines..yes they will deteriorate over timed but look how long the stock hoses on your monte lasted...so thats not an issue. buying the kit was great because it came with all the fittings needed and extra ones as well. bleeding the system is easy...lift the front wheels off the ground and trun the steering wheel from lock to lock watchin the ps resivour..keep it full...do this about 25 - 30 times...then turn the car on...check for leaks and turn it lock to lock about 10 more times and your done...there will still be some air in the system that you will have to drive the car to get out..easy thing to do.

The kit cost  $900 but goin that route save headaches on the install...once installed..you will love how the brakes feel...they work great with my wilwoods on all 4 corners and now i dont hav to worry about cam selection ...and the stopping power is crazy....best upgrade ive done

almost forgot to add since i got the the resivoir with two inlets..i had to make a bracket because the stock bracket helt the pump to close to the motor and would have burned through the hoses eventually but that was the hardest part of my install so beware if you get a resivour with dual inlets but its a real easy fix tho

  4. Yeah a friend told me about the 4500 rpm limit also. Which heads would be good with the flat top stock pistons. I was thinking bout upping the e compression by switching to some domed pistons with valve reliefs and run the heads I have but I think it would be better to switch to some better heads.

  5. man i looks like you and i are both in the 1% where the t fitting didnt work...i didnt have the skill to jus add another retuen port to my resovior so i went and bought another one with two returns in the back of it..but boy did that cause other headaches....because with the new resovior..its too big for the stock bracket so I had to modify the bracket to fit around it....smh...and then the 2nd inlet sits right on the engine block so again I had to make a top bracket to move it more towards the drivers side so i can adjust it when i get the belt on..oh did I mention ill have to get a longer belt..oh well at least i know that t fitting wont give me any issues when bleeding the system or any back pressure issues while driving....looking forward to these new brakes that make you stop on a dime and give two nickles back......hahahah
