  1. Wish I would have known your intentions I had a virgin LS-5 sitting in the garage we could have shipped it in the trunk lol. If you intend on making a LS-6 I would bag the original. As others have said use a crate motor or another 454 and not the original.

  2. Larry and Paul my guess would be you are both correct as maybe GM said no rear bumper guards but a built on friday or special order car could have still had them with the strip deleted. Crazy things happen on the assembly line trust me.

  3. I think you have the right idea by making it out of solid rubber but it may be hard to keep it attached with two sided tape. My first SS had the original strip and it had expanded from the metal rusting. My current SS does not have the correct bumper or I would try to help you out.

  4. Mike it is my friend somehow I have a couple lol. He bought my old car and has bagged it. He also is doing the four speed conversion. I told him to buy a Chevelle crossmember but I think he is going to modify the original. I will let you know how it goes.

  5. I have a LS-5 and the block is dated 1/11/70 the heads are stamped b-71 at first I thought they were the wrong date. But the more I look on other sites it looks like they are correct. Do any of you guys know the dates on your block vs your heads.
