the right side mirror is as close to the original and still not infringe on GM's copyright. It looks pretty good just a little thinner than the remote.

If I remember right that engine had a rubber belt that ran the cam, a lot of people thought would never work

The mirrors they sell now do not require you to take door panels apart. They are done with screws from the out side measure twice drill once about 15- 20 minutes and your done. Seat belts were very easy also, used all the old mounting holes just used new bolts. So far everything is GOOD

Have some new seat belts and a new right hand mirror coming tomorrow, now if I can get Scott to come uo and help install, as I know he got his a while back lol,Ron

just a thought, you might try a marine or boat dealer, they should have a good supply of stainless screws.

MCfan thanks for the blueprints for mounting fender skirts. I'm getting some paint work done so thoughtI would get skirts painted and see if I like them, Thanks again, Ron

does anyone know the location of the mounting hardware for skirts? The only way I know would be to hold skirt up in place and mark. Any ideas that might help? Thanks Ron

yeah I sure do wish I had it back,or even a picture would be nice.My first car was a 48 chevy stlyemaster coupe had it painted 57 chevy harbor blue, M y mother help me re do the interior with blue and white corduroy. Its the only pre 50 chevy that had a factory rear window wiper, vacuum lines running all the way that I have seen. Also had the famous vacuum assitt shifting, that didn't last long .J C.whitney had a kit for less than three dollars to eliminate that. The guy I bought it from had gone to Korean and didn't have anti freeze cracked the block purchased a motor out fo wrecked 52 cheve with powerglide so I had little bigger engine. Oh,by the way I gave 100. Dollars for car in 1959

Took dash all apart and changed all light bulbs. had three out but after all the work to get to them decided to change them all as they are the originals.

I took the Monte and did a Ashtabula county, Ohio covered bridge tour today (Sat) there were nine cars in our group I did 5 bridges then split as I had other commitments. Great day lot of fun, Oh I took our new family member with me, ( a 5 month old cocker spaniel. She rode well, and got all the attention
