  1. Yes, I already contacted him and he said yes. Nice.
  2. Having read the April, 2012 Car Craft with the article on the 3rd Gen Camaro set-up I decided to go on Ebay and see if I could find the backing plates. Well, I came across this EBay listing and was wondering if these were the ones that members have used: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-DISC-BRAKE-PA...869&vxp=mtr
  3. FAST SS, where are you in SE WI?
  4. I am putting a 12 bolt in the 1971 Monte. The old 10 bolt 2.73 is being retired. Wanting to replace the rear drums and there are two types: safe to assume the cheaper ones which are labeled "Pontiac style" are not the ones I need. Correct?
  5. I am doing alot. If you want go see the progress, look for me on FaceBook as air have an album there. George Primm. Aluminum heads, 700r4, 12 bolt 3.42 rear end, new carpet, radio with amp, GTA PS gearbox, tubular rear arms, much more. My 17 item list for the winter has exploded.
  6. Bob, did you say hadthe parts to do the rear disc conversion? Might be interested. George
  7. Had a question on if anyone has routed the trans lines differently than factory. I am also going to run the line directly to an aftermarket trans cooler. Here's what I am thinking. I am going to buy the coil of 5/16th line and bend my own. I do not want to route near the engine, so am thinking of a couple of options and want to see what other options there might be. 1). Run the hard lines alongside the frame rail to the front. Bending them around whatever needs to be cleared. 2). Running the lines (either trans rubber lines or hard lines) inside the frame rails. I would use rubber lines to the connection at the frame to allow for and flex in the short line from the trans to the frame. Any thoughts? Just do not want them next to the engine and with the frame, I can run the lines right up to the front and connect to the aftermarket cooler without them being seen in front.
  8. Larry, received the bracket today. Thank you!!

  10. What did you do for the PS set-up when putting on headers and removing the A/C?
  11. Vortecs, ok. After considering this I am going with the Edelbrock RPM, 64cc. I can use my intake. A local shop will sell them new for $485 each, hard to beat that. Beat Summit & Jegs price by $70, even after tax. Nice.
  12. the 290/350 is a Gen 1 crate motor. Can I use the L31 heads on the old school block?
  13. Having to upgrade the heads on my GM 350/290hp crate engine. The one from the factory smoked and when looked at it, the valve seals were coming apart. Nice. This will never be a race car. Has a Comp Cams XE268 cam. Was considering the Edelbrock E Street cylinder heads ($909) at Summit. Also saw the Brodix for $190 more. Leaning toward the Edelbrock. Opinions welcome. Ordering on soon so I have them for the weekend, or Spring Break next week.
  14. The item today on my Winter project was getting the Pontiac GTA steering box ready to paint. Also sanded the A/C delete plate and getting ready for primer.
  15. This is late, but the you can use the Chevelle, Pontiac Tempest or Buick trunk lids. Buy a good used. I have seen them locally for $50-$100. Don't know about yoru area.
  16. I have found using FLITZ to be excellent.
  17. Rust-O-Leum makes almost a perfect match to the original grey; called Dove Grey.
  18. I need the lower left rear patch panel. The car is at the body shop now waiting. I have an NOS right side but not the left side. George
  19. Dan, I gave you that link for Triple-A on June 14, 2008. Holy cow. George
  20. What year and make of vehicle?
  21. The 700R4 will handle it if built to. A couple of Chevelle and FG Monte owners are running 502+ engines with more HP and TQ than that at the track and they are fine. George
  22. Call Gordon at Atomic Transmissions in Villa Park, IL. Tell him George gave you his number. 630-832-1034. Great guy, Chevy gearhead. Can't get any better than that
  23. Let me know how the window sticker turns out. I got mine in 1984 and got two. They are starting to age nicely and a few guys have thought they were original. Oh well. George
  24. http://www.window-sticker.com/ That should do you. George
