I'm wanting to fix a factory steering wheel with a few cracks in it.
Does anyone have a fail proof way of fixing it and what is the correct color code.. its black now and needs to stay black.
-
It was a faulty 4 way flasher.
-
My front marker/ turn signal light come on when I apply the brakes.
I've done nothing as far as I know to cause this.
Does anyone know where to begin this bizarre wiring dilemma?

It's my understanding that a modern Sanden compressor is way better for 134a. They make kits that allow one to mount within the original brackets on your engine. The SD7 has seven pistons and are excellent.
Thank you for that help.
I'm making a stop tmrw at the shop..
I'll discuss all this with them.
I am a licensed mechanic and have been since 1988.
I'm disabled now and cant do the physical work.
I'm fortunate to have a local shop that can work on a pre OBD car...they also own a few...mopars...

As you see it's in bad shape and very difficult to make out much for numbers.
I managed to find the same replacement within 20 minutes of home.
I'm trying to keep this as original as possible plus some upgrades under the hood that everyone has been doing.
I have all the OEM parts removed from the car .

It is somewhat.
Its torn bad and mostly unlegible.
It's a Harrison for the BBC.
-
Fortunately the compressor had oil in it with the plugs .
I was going to have it flushed by a local shop when its completed next spring.
May I ask..
I have the OEM compressor off my car... its completely siezed..
Is it worth anything.. or rebuilding?
-
I purchased a NOS compressor and will be repairing my entire AC system new spring.
Thank you for this information as I will need all the help I can get.
I have relays I'm told I should replace?
I know nothing about AC.
Except roll the windows down and drive fast.

Ted, if you ordered the part I gave you the part number for, in the first post to your question, you have the correct seals.
The "70" side bumper to body seals are on all 70s and most early "71s" from the factory. I feel they should be on all 3 years on Monte Carlo. Just looks better with them.
I ordered it from a Canadian supplier.
I asked for the bumper to body seal.

OK Ted, here's the full info about the THREE 'seals" that involve the tail light/quarter panel extension:
1: 1970 cars ONLY. there was a steel reinforced flat spacer that got attached with through screws on the side of the quarter extension. It was flat and looked like an "L". It can be seen under the bumper sides.
2: The tail light lens seal, I linked to in in my third post in this thread.
3: The quarter extension to bumper seal, I linked to it in my fourth post in this thread. It's flat when not installed and wrapps around the bottom of the quarter extension below the tail light. When it's installed, it's horseshoe shaped. THIS is the one I think you need.
If you've ordered the wrong one, they probably haven't shipped it yet and you can change or cancel the order.
I found a pic of the wrap-around seal, #3:
Those are the ones I need.
I guess I did order the wrong one.
I'll try and correct it tmrw morning when they open.
Thanks for clearing that up.

I maybe wrong.
I may have ordered the wrong parts.
So now what?

I've also seen the rear bumper to body seal that was supposed to be 70 only on some early production 71 cars.
Since july when I bought my monte... its been 2 decades since I remember seeing another one.
Since then I've learned a lot about the first generation... which in my opinion is the only generation.
I've only seen 3 or 4 others and in all 3 years.. I've even seen a 72 SS WITH column shift and a bench seat...lol all were way above mine in detail and I noticed they all had the rubber style seals around the bottom of the taillights.
I've purchased a rear bumper and wanted to replace those seals at the same time.
I found them and ordered the set from a local Canadian muscle car depot.

I bought a used one and it's got a couple of cracks.
I've watched a few videos and I think I'll try to repair this one.
I'll post pictures when I start and during the process.
