Sad news, prayers for the family.

Bummer.
Big question now is what did it sell for.

Happy Easter Everyone!
Having parents and sisters over today...been a long time since I had visitors. -
Agree, not true.
I hear stories like that every so often but this one with 500 being made is like wow, lol.

At 2 minutes and 30 seconds the guy calls the Monte Carlo a Camaro, lol.

I'm also glad that you mentioned how it would alter the sound because that would probably be a deal killer for me.
Don't let it be a deal killer, the exhaust note will still be great with a cross over.
I am old school and like to be different. You probably could not tell the difference unless the two cars were side by side and then like I mentioned it's a preference thing. The only way I could explain the exhaust note would be to use a Harley...they come with a dual exhaust from the factory with a cross over (now a days even have a catalytic converter incorporated in it). Remove the head pipes and replace it with a true dual and you will have a sound more of a drum beat...hope that makes sense.- 1

Is anybody running an X pipe?
Are you looking at doing an x-pipe for performance or sound...or both?
The x-pipe will help over all for performance but in my opinion at the sacrifice of a true dual exhaust sound.
I decided against a cross over (x-pipe or h-pipe) on my Monte so I would have a different sound than most other people...it also helps that I have 3 1/2" Torque Tech exhaust from the headers to rear bumper, lol.

So ... if a '71 SS454 with a 4-speed sells for $82K (recent Mecum auction), what might a '70 factory LS3 4-speed with SS454 badging sell for? 😁

Hey there Rob -
Great news - our Monte is no longer for sale, and we are planning on joining our Monte family in Carlisle this year!
I called yesterday to make reservations, and they couldn't find our code - I'm sure they will, but could you tell me what rate you negotiated.
Can't wait to see everybody!

Underpowered, underpowered, underpowered...yeah, that was getting old.
Okay article but written by someone with minimal car knowledge. One thing that caught my attention was when the one car mentioned with 1200 rear wheel hp only ran in the 9's...should easily be a mid 8 second car.

Pretty Cool. 😎

Hoping things this coming year are better than what we are going through now.
That being said I am planning on going and make up for what I missed at the 50th anniversary 😎.

Gotta admit my Monte never left the garage once this year. Started it several times but it never moved...🙁

We all get those odd sounds that turn out to be nothing but an object rolling back and forth or vibrating...sometimes when you can locate it turning up the stereo seems to help, lol.
-
On a side note...when I switched to 1350 joints I installed 1350 greaseless u-joints. Being greaseless they are more solid and stronger.

Bummer on the outcome, people are the same everywhere and hardly ever fess up when they are at fault.
I learned my lesson years ago and now have a camera in all my vehicles. Saved me twice and the simple words of telling the other insurance company I have video proof speeds things up dramatically. I have even pulled over after "witnessing" an accident and showed the police my video of it. They very thankful and cited the correct person which they said before seeing the video they were just gonna let the insurance companies fight it out.

Great price.
New tires are the first thing it needs before it sees the road again.

Curious as to what is the problem. If they are not leaking then they should work.

Wow, they kinda waited till the last minute to send them out.

I am in Ohio and still working (electrician) as though the pandemic never happened, luckily I have been on jobs that have only one or two other people in the whole building. Some days there were no one except me...I have been doing punchlists for several of the new buildings at the local college we did. Even traveled to Columbus Ohio the past two days to fix things in a school that was remodeled...again just one other person in the entire school. Things could halt at any time though. If they do it will give me a reason to fix things on the Monte and around the house that I am normally too tired to do after work.

I have a Flex A Lite fan set-up. Their fan controller can be bought separate if that is all you are looking for. I think it is a well made product.

That's awesome about the Fiero Club staying there. My Dad absolutely loves Fieros and drives me crazy talking about them and how he always wanted one. He will have a good time for sure. 😀
