  1. So..looking down at the back of the gauge from inside the car...which terminal is ground and which is the positive? I would like to splice into the wires from the connector that plugs into the printed circuit as it is disconnected right now. I did find an ignition hot..off the top of my head I do not remember the color...but when I hooked it to the guage...it just pegged it. The guage was working before the printed circuit shorted out. Is one of these also the sending unit?
  2. Haven't been here in a while but was wondering if someone could help. 1970 Monte Carlo...idiot dash....was wondering if there was a way to wire the fuel gauge to work because the printed circuit is fried...and i don't have the time right now to replace it. Any suggestions. I have the connector unplugged because it keeps blowing fuses..just want a fuel gauge for now. Thanks Mike
  3. Any body have experience with their product...They have a great price on 3:73 gears ,carrier and bearings kit on e-bay. http://www.quickperformance.com/contact.htm Just curious Mike
  4. Yesterday it was a trip to the bakery for some nice Italian cookies...YUM! today it was a soccer practice, tomorrow maybe to work...the weather has been nice the past few days so I'm takin' advantage!!Can't wait to put $4.11 a gallon gas in again!!!
  5. Lets' get this going again....any info on the proper color combo??? The guy that I bought my '70 from claims that it is black aqua...so he started it in that then never finished. I want to finish it this summer. A correct answer would help
  6. Has anyone tried the Lokar setups?? They look pretty nice and looks like once they are installed ...they look like they belong there.Just need to find proper placement on the floor for the hole. Then it looks like a shifter boot would cover it. Here is a link Lokar
  7. I also got mine at Autozone...on the shelf...24.99
  8. Anybody ever look into using a Lokar set-up?? They have a unit that bolts to the tranny and a cable to hook it up to the linkage.I am just wondering what the proper measurements would be for the hole in the floor. It offers an option that does not have the black box that you mount to the floor. www.lokar.com I like the fact that you can make it look like it belongs there. I wonder if the standard dimension for a four speed would work??
  9. Here I go with another tranny question I just purchased a new vacuum modulator for the th350. The old one was large non adjustable type ,new one is smaller adjustable type. I also just installed B&M shift improver kit. Question is which modulator is going to give best results? and what is proper way to adjust?? Should I test drive with old modulator first or just jump into the new one with nothing to compare shifting to? I also found a forum that mentions different color stripes on the new modulator(pink, red, and green)they say red is the one to get ....WHY? Here is thread http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/transmissions-drivetrain/300507-th350-vacuum-modulator-non.html Mike
  10. Was the original flywheel cover for a 70 steel or plastic(th350)?? I need a new one and am about to order from Summit, unless someone on the boards has one for sale at a reasonable price or knows of a better source for one. Also does anyone know how to tell if a tranny is the original that came with the car. I'm wondering if mine is or if it is a rebuilt replacement. Car had 104,000 mi. on it when I bought it 2 years ago with rebuilt tranny. Mike
