Daryl,
I wish i could tell you, I just looked around a rack of hoses at a parts store.

What Mark said!

Here is a link to the Holley page that gives all the part numbers and jets for the carb. Holley carbs

That is light!
I just weighed mine last week. I was surprised that it was only 3686, all steel though.
-
Mine is probably overkill. It is one of their "Nitrous Ready" 3.5 inch shafts with chrome moly yokes and 1350 solid U joints. I think it was over 600 and they will replace it if I ever break a weld or twist the shaft.
-
Never heard of them. Does not sound bad, but no power adders with the hypereutectic pistons.
-
Denny's did mine, no complaints.
Engine sounds great!

454s are great engines, but I like the stroker 489,496 that extra 1/4 arm really helps bottom end. As far as cost difference, Rods are usually resized possibly have rod bolts replaced. Crank may need to be turned and is probably cast. Forged pistons are the way to go. Just be aware that they are a little noisier on cold start until they warm up and grow to their running temp. I would find out the difference between a good rebuild on you 454 and the 496 and go from there.

How does the fan fit in the shroud? Pictures would be good.

Mine might get there in a trailer sometimes but she ain't no queen!
Good to see you on Dave!

You should not hot tank aluminum.
-
Yep Sam ceramic coat the intake. I sold Steve L. my air gap that was ceramic coated. He was impressed. Had a 6 duce intake done for my buddies 30, and a few others. It holds up great and if you do some smoothing it looks even better. nothing will discolor it.
-
Take it to someone that does header coating. never have to clean again!

Beat me to it Sam!

Pretty mild cam stock converter should work.
-
How are you centering the rear? I don't see a panard bar or other device.
-
crankcase pressure could be causing your oil pan leak also!
-
Wow that is a lot of oil!
There is not much for seals in the distributor except for gravity.
How is the crankcase vented? Could crankcase pressure be forcing oil up the shaft? I have never seen that before.

396?

James,
I think Dave is correct. I would not consider this engine. I hate seeing a engine in a box like that, you don't even know if it is a matching assembly.
You would have a bunch of parts that need checked and assembled. Rings, bearings, gaskets and a bunch of hard parts including cam, heads, intake and carb.
After you invest in the engine you also have to get brackets, fan shroud, and possibly front springs.
It really starts to add up!
Rebuild your 350!

If the engine has a one piece rear main seal it is possible to replace the seal by removing the trans in some cases. Your 402 has a two piece seal in the rear main bearing cap.

Shop around, it is a pain in the butt deal!

I liked the look
