Patrick, I am about 8 months older than you!
The car felt great, I was trying to be easy on it!
-
Great Day
60 Ft 1.37
330 FT 4.12
1/8 6.43 @ 105.40
1000 Ft 8.46
1/4 10.19 @ 130.23
It still has more in it. The car was a bit ahead of me today every thing is happening quicker! The engine ran great, I need to work on the tune!

Loaded it into the trailer, going to beat the snot out of it tomorrow!

saturday, Saturday, SATURDAY!

The LS9 sounds like a fun project. The only thing that might dampen the enthusiasm is the $22000 for the engine and controller. Gas pedal not included but needed!
-
26 is the hottest plug with a projected tip. 687 is a bit hotter without the projected tip.
-
I might try a hotter one in #1 for now. What plug number are you running right now?
Autolite is my plug of choice also.
-
No idea Bill, Just something I wanted to do. I was pleasantly surprised that the hood stayed up without a prop.
-
The hood is functional, I need to make an air pan.
-
Put the engine in.

I clean everything with acetone, it gets all the oil residue off. A oil leak on the "china wall" will not cause a vacuum leak.

Congrats, good times

I don't think I would go past 38 on timing.
I would jet all 4 corners 2 numbers at a time.
One change at a time! you will get there!
-
Dull low pitch or sharp sounding? Does it have forged pistons? they knock until they get warm.
-
Keep on working at it, you should get there!
It gets addictive!

It is a gen 6 bowtie block. Bore is 4.56 stroke is 4.25, 555 CID. Jesel belt drive. Cam timing is exact!

Finished my short block. Pictures in modifiers section

There is really not much to mess up rebuilding a power steering pump, a seal, and a bushing. The bushing needs to be pressed so that is and issue for some people. the kit is cheep and you keep your original parts.
There is so little to rebuild in one it would be hard to have a rebuilder screw it up. I might try NAPA instead of AutoZone. Summit seems steep.

Purchase the unit and have it installed.
Everything will interchange. I would suggest new bearings but the shims should be he same.
Make sure you get the right series carrier to match your gear ratio.
What gear ratio do you have? I don't know if a 2 series posi carrier is available. 3 Series works with 3.08 to 3.90

200r4 have a bell housing pattern that fits Chevy, Buick, Olds, and Pontiac.
The best ones come from the turbo Buicks. Good luck with that!
Test and tune with new Hammer

Shocks are QA1 double adjustable on all four corners.
Moroso 'trick' front springs. Big tall coils 260 lbs per inch. Scary as heck to compress and put in, like handling a hand grenade wit the pin halfway out! I had to make a longer bolt for my spring compressor.
Upper A frames are aftermarket with tall ball joints for more travel.
Lower A frames are aftermarket because the factory ones are ugly.
BMR anti roll bar in the rear. Big improvement!
Adjustable upper control arms with heim ends to the chassis.
South side machine style traction links on the lower bars.
