  1. Could anyone tell me if a late 70 , 71ss has a clip type connection to the throttle cable, or a 1/4" ball stud type? I have a rebuilt holly quad on the car now but was able to find a dec. of 70 7041200 quad and the real quad has the clip type connector so my throttle cable would have to be changed to fit this rochester quadrajet. Thanks in advance, John.

  2. Just read Hemmings Muscle mag on the convertable Z28 and had some thoughts. Cars that are done to this extreme aught to be Illegal!! No stamping of blocks . No fake and weatherd paper work. Pass GO and go directly to Jail. No problem with reproduction cars with original proofs. Just like the critic says,"Who's to tell after the 1'st sale of the car.". mad

  3. George, any help on the correct date code Quadrajet will be great, it's in my plans for the car, thanks John. The car is what it is, not perfect but I think it should remain as original as possible and still be able to drive it.

  4. Thank you George, the car is a low milage (41,000) 71 SS, can't find a build sheet though. The carb isn't original , it's a Rochester rebuilt by Holly w/ no part #'s. Trying to keep it original, but things wear out.(ha-ha)Using Moog ball joints and tyrods as the price of GM ,if you can find it is very costly.

  5. I was planing a front end complete rebuild but after reading some posts about restorations and looking at what really needs to be done I'm limiting the work. My car is a71SS with 41,000 miles on it. The car is 37 yrs old and the ball joints and tie rods are in need of replacing. Ive always wanted to get GM parts but they just are'nt available. Moog is a quality part and I'll use them for all. I like to drive this car so things are gonna wear out. These monte carlos are an awsome looking car , wish I had room for another that I could just drive and modify as I would like. BB
