Thank you for the response. There is definitely power at the coil. I'm about to head back out to make sure there is power at the starter solenoid. Again, thank you for taking the time to respond.

Greetings FirstGenners! Glad to be a part of this forum. Hopefully I can provide some help to other members somewhere down the road, but right now I'm desperately in need of some help myself. Specs: 1970 Monte Carlo Original 350 V8 This past winter I had a hotwire from the battery ground out and short out when my idiot brother was showing the car to his friend. Apparently he sat the battery on top of a wire that was laying in my rusty, sharp battery tray and walked away. Thankfully the entire garage didn't burn down... Now I'm in the process of putting the engine back together after the absolute nightmare of having a water pump bolt break off in the engine block. This morning I attached the water pump and the fan hoping to run the motor up to temperature to make sure there are no leaks before I attach the power steering pump, alternator etc.. To my surprise, when I hooked up the battery and turned the key I got nothing. The dash lights come on, the headlights work, the radio, blower motor; all that stuff works, but when I turn the key I get nothing. I checked the fuse panel under the dash and all the fuses look to be okay. I also checked the wire going to the starter and that seems to be solid. Upon further inspection I noticed a greenish wire that connects to a solenoid of some sort that was melted really badly and burned up. I have no idea where this wire is supposed to go after leaving the solenoid. I've attached some pictures for reference. If anyone has ideas as to what may be wrong please let me know. I'm completely stumped at this point. It should be noted that this is a project car that I haven't had on the road yet, but I did have it running quite well last year before the whole shorted wire situation. Thank you all in advance!
