Mine need replacing some cracks and extra holes
can you imagine that only 45 years old and cracking already
I guess they don't build them like they used to

What would be involved to replace my 350 turbo with a late model 6 speed auto trans. I have a 2:73 gear I have a Tahoe with the 6 speed and it has a low 1st gear ratio I believe 4.03 to 1
the Tahoe has a 308 gear but the tranny pulls the almost 3 ton beast very well

Why do I get the feeling it's going to SNOW!!!!!!!

A neighbor of mine has a late model Tahoe painted Victory red it was not a regular production color, he bought it used and just thinks its an average garden variety Tahoe. I know some fleet orders have many choices not offered to the public,

I've seen GM build many so called prototypes some were just ideas they followed through with never intended to go into production. I remember a few years ago Barrett Jackson had a run of these cars all sold with no titles
one was a 1996 full size SS with a 502 engine, maybe they snuck a few Montes out the same way back then.

Just check it out carefully for rust
especialy the heads.
The block should have the freeze
plugs removed and given a thorough
cleaning. They have a tendency to ingest
sand and or mud I have brought many "sinkers"
back to life after being completely under.

I have a number for a 396 heat stove
but I think the manifolds are the same.
3976061.
I knnow they are different, but I got the upper and lower for my 350/300
from a GM dealer both cost around ten dollars

Roger Penske had a Chevy dealership in Philadelphia in the 60's
70's he had all the good stuff there in the showroom
LS 6'S in any model they were available in, Z28's what color do you want?
He was well respected by GM and got what ever he wanted from them
I felt like a kid in a candy store when I went in there
If I only knew then what I know now

I spent a weekend with a friend of mine at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Mich, back in 1969. Went to Berger Chevrolet and saw a aluminum big block Camaro in the showroom for a sticker price of over $6K. Little did I know then what today would be. Also, there was a Pontiac dealer in Cincinnati that stuffed 428ci motors into GTOs as a dealer option like the Yenkos. Went to an all Pontiac show years ago & stumbled into the rare 428 GTO and learned something of its history. But, memory has faded somewhat, but I do remember number of 428 GTO I saw at that show.
I switched out the engine in my 65 GTO way back then
to a 421, tri power and all, it looked to the untrained eye
like the 389 but fooled them all when the time came.
[not going to say light to light]it's illegal!
