  1. We had 13 Montes at a show where My Classic Car was filming in 2008 (Peach City Beach Cruise, Penticton, BC) and we managed to get quick shot on the episode. We informed Dennis about the club and even got a group photo with him. Hope to see your car on the show. smile

    Way Cool!!!!!!!

  2. I found a youngster that wants to sell his rays but he was asking alot cause he had brand new premium sportways 520s that were mounted but never used, they still had the rubber nubs on them but he didnt find a buyer so her is dropping the price so I might pick them up. No club just solo for right now.

new 520's? Yeah jump on that! You could always take it to a shopw that sells wires and have them pull them off and sell the tires. I'm not a fan of the 520's but ALOT of OG cats are. i bought some Hankook 175-70-14's for mine, but I have yet to roll it. You goin bad or juice?

  3. I have some pics. postedin the members photos but it still in restore mode. I got some cancer issues that I'm gonna be doing(photos will follow). I live in the San Diego area and we are spoiled with great weather so I love to cruise the beach. I want to buy some old school tru-rays 14/7 or 8 with the corvette flags in the emblem. Think im gonna change the nickname.LOL

Tru rays are NICE, but I've found they can be pretty pricey. Thats why I decided to go with the 72 cross lace spokes. But if you get your hands on a set, don't let go of them grin You should post up pics nayways, alot of us are still in the restore stage, gotta start some where homie

Okay found them. Glad to see your bringing her back to life! Alot of good shops in your area. YOu roll with a car club or solo?

  4. those are nice wheels....

i prefer a bone stock monte.. but i love a bone stock monte with 13x7 wires and thin whitewalls.

I have always had alot of respect for the lowriders and the unbelieveable amout of time and money they invest into the cars.

i would not say the lowrider community is anymore dangerous than billybob and his buddys mudbogging giant trucks at 1am drunk as hell with a bunch of country folk standing around with shotguns and beer.

My homie Big Tony brought up a good point. If we wanna do away with this stigma attached to lowriders we should start attending more hot rod/muscle car shows and not: Dress like gangstas, not bump rap music as we arrive to the show, and introduce our selves and let our actions speak for themselves.

I've owned 3 diffrent lowriders a 1972 custom which I didnt know what I had and a 1972 cutlass supreme and a 1983 monte .

i don't know about to much, thats about how much I've seen them going for. Gonna pick me up some skirts and swap out the rear end from one with a g-body so the wires'll tuck. If you want I think you could run standards in the back without having to swap out rear ends. Not really gonna see much of them with the skirts on. I saw a guy on Lay It Low do that, didn't look bad. You got any pics of your ride? What you got planned for it? I'm assuming your from Fresno (bull dog country lol). Some good shops around that way.

  5. You won those? Wow. Impressive. Congratulations!

Yep, from a raffle on Lay It Low (.com). A nation wide raffle, and I won grin We had just buried my cousin, so my family was (is) still heart broken over it. When we won, it was like a sign, so I renamed the car using her nick name which is Hell Fire (we didn't plan that lol). I'm going to get a flame thrower kit from either SPAL or Auto Loc, which we enable me to shoot flames without having to run the engine rich like you orignally had to do.

Thanx grin 14's. 13's don't look right on first gens imo. Gonna wrap in them in a set of Hankook 175/7014's. It's a little smaller than the stock ralley's, so it lowers it just enough that I won't need lowering springs. The guy building them is located right off Whittier. What I wouldn't do to be able to cruise the blvd back in the 60's 70's.

    Rod,they say size doesn't matter.lol

Have you been talking to my lady cry

Arsin, nice wheels, they look like they belong on one of those damm Lowrider cars.lol J/K Bro.smile

Look good,UH Green and Gold would look good..

Thanx, I chose the 72 cross laced rims because they remind me of a set of the old school Tru spokes, which are VERY pricey these days, even in bad condition.

I'm going to do something similiar to the 100 spoke wires I got now. I love how people will paint thier spokes the same color as the car, really gives it that custom look.

  6. I really wish the lowrider guys could stick around long enough to see how supportive this site is. I agree with the comments about bikers, I know several bikers and none are affiliated with any illegal activities. We shot our selves in the foot in the 80's and 90's when we were so egar to have our cars get nation wide recognition that we didn't consider the repercussions of putting our cars in rap videos. When you look at Dre and Snoop videos, most of those are cars from LA car clubs, that well respected in the community. I'm trying to get all the clubs together at the begining of next years car season so we can put on a "stop the violence" show and shine and hopefully control the media converage a better than as it has. Unlike gangs, we work together to support our shows since we no longer recieve sponsorship from magazines like Lowrder Magaine and so forth. K, enough preaching, now for some bragging grin

Here's what they are going to resemble with custom cold and chrome engraving on the hub with chrome knock offs with gold ships. But that previous pic is by the same guy building mine. Enjoy.

    Ride In Peace

  7. Ahhh, I see that. Then someone needs to start posting in that forum, if its been 3 months since the last post. Thats quieter than the interior forum wink

I hope so. Unforunatly there was shooting here at a CONCERT with LA rappers (nothing against LA) but they wanted lowriders there because it was called a LA RAZA event. People NOT lowriders shot up the event and they media began calling it a "LOWRIDER CAR SHOW". Since then our shows have been cancelled.

For those that don't understand where I'm coming from, this is the exact reason I get defensive when negative comments are made about lowriding. Now anyone with a lowrider is being harassed by law enforcement because it has become a high profile case.

All I got to say is, RIDE IN PEACE. For the love of this, for those that loved this that we have lost, this site alone has had its share of loses, lets get over this hot rod/muscle car/lowrider/donk barrier and just embrace the love of cruising.

On a positinve note, as soon as I get the custom rims I won in the raffle from ENVIOUS TOUCH from Whitter, CA I'll post up the pics. 72 cross laced spokes with custom engraving and gold plating and 2 tone chrome/gold plating on the hub.

  8. Ahhh, I see that. Then someone needs to start posting in that forum, if its been 3 months since the last post. Thats quieter than the interior forum wink

yeah just got alot going on. Haven't done anything to the Monte since the quarter panel. Still waiting for the rims I won in the raffle grin

I know that alot of the guys get used to a particular site lay out and have a hard time adjusting. Was trying to get them to vist the other forums on here.

  9. Oh okay. I've been busy with personal things so I haven't been on the site for a little bit. Never heard of a thread getting pulled unless one of the rules had been broken so I was a bit shocked. Didn't mean to come off like I was pointing fingers, I was just wondering what happened to all the old posts. I sent him an pm letting him know that what had happened so he doesn't get the wrong idea.

Thanx for the heads up grin

  10. You got the quarter panel fixed!! cool I got a taillight hsg if you need it..I'll donate to the cause. You pay pony express. wink I think it's '72.

I replaced the damaged with one I got from Jared. The guy blasted it but due to medical reason isn't able to handle the fumes from painting so he only does body work I guess.

He said that because of some dings and gauges in the NOS from it having to be moved from one homie to the next before I was able to pick it up (not sure which one did it rofl ) That he would cut the good section of the NOS one and use that. Do you think he cut corners? If so I just won't use him again. I was wondering if he was trying to salavage as much of the stock body as possible since he didn't seem to be a big fan of NOS. Either way I spent a grand on having the side stretched out, the rusty parts of the the inner wheel wheel cut out and fabbed and the NOS put on. I hope I still got a deal on it.

  12. Arsin,

wouldn't it be cheaper to ditch the skirts or perhaps get a better offset fitting rim instead? whistle.. on a serious note..call currie they'll bruit it to your liking.

Thanx I'll check them out. Hoping to find something cheap on craigs list. Ballin on a budget rofl

  13. I need to shorten my rear end by 2" on either side to get my rims to tuck with shirts on. It was suggested that I go with a camaro rear end since a g-body may not handle horse power as well. Anyone know what years might be compatible with a first gen Monte.

  14. Pinksta.. you and my brother will get along just fine.. LOL

I thought I got along with most people just fine grin Really lookin forward to the meet. My sister said she was gonna come up for a visit on that weekend. I love my lil sister, but I had to ask her come the following weekend rofl I love my sis, but I love my Monte as well. Tough choice, but the Monte won wink

  15. looking good brothe any more picks

Thanx homie. Gotta finish cleaning out the garage. We got rid of a bunch of trash but it's still a little messy so I was trying to get picks of the MC without showing you how messy the garage is rofl I'll try to get some more this weekend wink

Aboslutely beautiful. I am so proud to post pics of Alize on Lay it Low. Them dudes are loving your ride. Glad to see your hard work getting the recognition it deserves grin

    Arsin,

Yeah, they keep digging themselfs in, I just hate that they have to drag the kids into it and put extra strss on them that they don't need.

I sortat did a little looking around on that Lay it Low site, and only found one post you put with my monte... looks like at least one guy saw Alize in the RIDEs mag... That makes me feel good smile

I tryed to make a account but they said they are not takeing new ppl right now, don't know if they are haveing issues with the site or what, so I will have to try later, so I can postsome more pics and see how crazy they go over it it more... wink

Huh? With all the people on there with troll accounts that sounds odd. Try again later, it may be an issue with the server. They are always having problems with that

  17.

Mine did not look like that. Wonder who made yours and who made mine. Hope they fit for you with out any issues. Sometimes you get the crazyones from china that don't fit correctly.

Oh and I like the Blue Walls, makes it one off man... wink

Keep me posted on everything. smile

I'll mess with it tonight when I get home. I think Jake said he ordered these same ones. But I'll test fit it :fingerscrossed:
