  1. It will likely take me about 4 hours to get into the Tacoma area so I'll probably get there arund 11am at the earliest. 11 is probably a good time to meet and then go wherever we decide t go for lunch. I'll be ready for a donut after 4 hours of driving grin

    Yeah like this one

I would love to do this as well, and I agree that this would make for an excellent meeting place. The Krispy Kreme is right off the I-5 freeway on the west side and is highly visible. It's basically at the northeast part of the Tacoma Mall parking lot. If you're southbound on I-5 and miss the S 38th St exit (which is a little ways north of the Krispy Kreme), just continue down (honk and wave as you pass by Krispy Kreme, of course) to the S 56th exit and then head north to get there. Having a donut would be a good snack prior to having lunch at Jake's friend's restaurant in Yelm! I think Yelm would be about another 45 minutes or so from the Krispy Kreme.

If we meet at the rest area south of Olympia (which is very nice, but I think is also quite a ways - down near the Millersylvania State Park and Scott Lake areas), it would be a backwards trek to Yelm.

    Things to consider.

    wink

If you have not made your reservations yet, you should start looking into it. You have until July 29th to make the reservation but they may be fully booked by then. If they say there are no more rooms under the FGMCC, they still may have other rooms left so ask. Let me know and I will let them know you are part of the group to get the group rate.

    smile

    Whats the rate again?

    hourly or daily Pink???? blush

  6. My buddy owns a Chinese restaurant in Yelm and he is wondering

if we would want to meet there for some lunch before continuing

on to the Dalles. It is not too far off of I-5.

    Any interest????

You had me at Chinese Restaurant Jake rofl

  7. That's terrible. Sorry to hear that. Let Mitzi know we are here

for her if she needs us.

C'mon Robyn, we're pulling for you buddy.

x100. I just heard the news. Get well soon homie! It can be frusterating when a friend is in the hospiptal but is too geographicly out of reach so I hope this suffices.

  8. Hey you guys. I have a 1972 monte but I am not a big fan of the grill in 72. Does anyone know if a 70 or 71 grill will fit?

    Thanks,

    GIBBONS

I thought of doing the very same thing... Until I went cruising at a car show and people were pointing saying "look at that 72 Monte". I was proud for one, that they not only got the make right, but the year as well. I was also glad they werent pointing at the quarter panel lol

Then I thought of how many people would call it a 70 or a 71 if I made the conversion and how I would have to correct them everytime telling them its a 72.

Me personally, I love both the 70 and 71 fronts ends, but have learned to appreciate my car for what it is.... egg crate grille and all grin

  9. I'll be fighting Rod for the restrooms....I'm a little bit farther south than he is. We used to live in Elk Grove Mark and Red's from Lodi. It would be nice if we could hook up, good support system in case anyone (like me) needs a hand....Dave

My sister is in Lodi now. Nice place, just as long as you stay outta Stockton lol Man, theres no way i'm missing this grin

  10. really makes no difference to me Aaron (although the second one looks like it might be higher)...probably should check with both to see who might be the most willing to support any special needs for parking the cars, trailers, security etc....

your going to the WM??? Ah I think I gotta to that wedding with Aaron LOL. Man if you go I better step my game up cuz its gonna be a clown fest

  14. Montes look good with 17" wheels. Just enough. Can't see how the 13s are safe. How does one handle with those small tires and wheels??

13's aren't really safe going high speeds on the free way but thye've been doing it for almost half a century now. I had 13's on a 4 door Fleetwood with hydraulics and they never blew. I'm going with 14's how ever.

13 inch wheels are used out of tradition. Back in the day if you wanted a low rider you would throw on 13's, cut the springs and put sand bags in teh trunk. Then later on someone figured out you could use aircraft parts ,for the gates I believe, and thus the first hydraulic set up was created. But ALOT of the lowriders honor tradition and still prefer to roll 13's just as alot of hot rodders prefer to go with traditional rims as well.

    Each to their own smile
