  1. Solid shifting just sounds like he put a B&M shift kit in. Those are like 30 bucks. I paid a thousand for my beefed TH400 from a performance shop. But in ANY this GS cost more I'm sure.

  2. Anyone done their exhaust so it exits through the rear quarter panel? I love the look of the pipes through the panel but it doesn't look feasible. What options have you guys run other than the normal pipes out the back?

  3. Finally got the car back on the road with the new trans and driveshaft. Put about 300 miles on her with no issues. Recently she started surging when at idle. Only about 200 rpm or so, but enough that when sitting at a light you feel it. Yesterday the rpm bumped itself up to about 1500 when in park, and when I shut her down I got a little post igniton rumble. I saw some smoke coming from the driver side breather so I added a PCV to the carb last week and checked for leaks around the carb with starter fluid but didn't find any. Any ideas what would cause this big change?

  4. Update, turns out I'm stupid. When I pulled the driveline to do the floor pans I saw a few chewed teeth on the flywheel. So I replaced it and the starter to be safe. Well the scat crank doesn't have a nipple to line up the flex plate and it can go on multiple ways. So she was out of balance. Which I should have noticed but chocked it up to the new beefier motor. Only took me two transmissions to learn that lesson, haha.

  5. Update* through some research realized that the SCAT crank that's in there does not come with a dowel pin for the flywheel. Apparently none of them do. So when I had some starter issues previously and I replaced the flywheel because of some partially chewed teeth I may not have aligned the flywheel properly for the external balance. Gonna back the trans off tomorrow and check.

  6. Got the trans rebuilt and back in the car and she's back on the road. Got a call from my trans guy today and he said he felt a slight vibration right around 2k that concerned him. He was worried there may be a balance issue with the crank and if not addressed would cause pre mature failure down the road. I know for a fact the passenger side header is taping the lower control arm and needs to be massaged in with a hammer. it has the correct flexplate on there but I honestly can't remember if the balancer on it came with it or was off my 402. Or could tit be bad maybe? Have you guys ever heard of any thing this before? He's a very reputable local guy so I don't think he's making it up. Just wanted to throw it out there if anyone has ever heard of something similar. Thanks

  7. Hey guys,

So I just snapped my second TH400 bell housing clean through today. I thought the 468 broke the original because there was too much power. Then had a TH400 built the was supposed to handle 800hp. Less than 100 miles and it snapped clean across too. Anyone know of anything that tends to be the culprit here? Or do I just need to beef up the bell housing?

  8. I got the engine harness from M&H a while back. Now I want to update the light side from the firewall forward, but everyone is on back order for 12 weeks. Anyone have one sitting on a shelf or know someone who does?

V8 , warning lights, passenger side alternator with internal regulator, A/C removed

    Thanks
