  1. I replaced my original factory 4 row brass copper radiator with another factory replacement in 2020, at age 50. It had a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water. I used a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water this time as an experiment. I’ll let you know how it works out in 46 years.

  2. Actually no Dennis. I run the Syracuse Nationals Mini Meet from a distance. I live in the same state as the event but live 6-7 hours away. It can be done by anyone who is willing to put in the time and thoroughly research the event and surrounding areas for our Club members needs such as hotels, safe parking for our Monte’s, truck and trailer parking too, food, various types of restaurants, fuel, other events and attractions in the area. I also research airports, if any Club member wants to fly and come to the event without their Monte. It does take time and planning. Once there, look around and do further research in person. You can adjust accordingly or for the next time you will attend. It took me a few years to get the Syracuse Nationals Mini Meet fine tuned. I constantly try to make it better each year based on the Club members needs and wants for that event. The Club Officers do encourage any Club member or members who has a large yearly automotive event they would like plan, attend and oversee to contact us. We would be happy to discuss and help plan it with you to make it a success. It’s another opportunity for our Club members to get together, promote our Club mission and obtain some new members. In 2023 the Club held 5 Club events, Eastern and Western Meets, 2 Mini Meets and a car show in numerous States and Canada.

  3. Jeff, Your not clear as to what you’re trying to do with your tire size. There are many sizes that can fit a 15 inch rim. Is your Monte stock or modified? Are you going for a certain look, maybe taller or wider tire in the rear?

  4. Wes, Congratulations on the purchase of your Monte and welcome to the Club !! Being a dues paying member allows you to join us at various Club Meets. Our Eastern Meet at The GM Nationals in Carlisle PA is our largest Meet and will be happening this June 2024.  You are just in time to register and join us. Take a look at Forum thread for the Eastern Meet. We are family friendly and would love to meet you and your wife too. Plenty of members bring their significant other and / or children too. They are our next generation of auto enthusiasts, future Monte owners and Club members. We hope you can plan this out and join us for this event. Always a great time and event !!!

  7. Yes Rob, Herring was a tradition in my household either on New Year’s Eve growing up, or on New Year’s Day depending on my work schedule. My kids are not big fans of it, but had tried it multiple times. My wife and I still enjoy it.
Happy New Year to all of Monte family !!! Wishing you and your families good health, happiness and prosperity in 2024. Plenty of opportunities to meet up and participate in various Club events in 2024. Our First Generation Monte Carlo Club Eastern and Western Meets, Syracuse Nationals or other Mini Meets. Make a New Year’s resolution to come join us !!!

  9. Mark, Get one of each (if you have the space) and let us know what you think. The 4 post is great for storage and basic maintainance. If you’re taking wheels off or doing suspension work, definitely a 2 post. The 2 post is more work to use, but more versatile as Joe T has shown by hanging motorcycles and other items off of it for repairs or maintainance.

  10. Back in my younger days, an ax was fine to split wood. Once you get a bit more experienced, a log splitter is definitely the way to go. You can control the sizes you split for your stacking or storage pleasure. The small scraps that are made from it are great kindling too. I use to have a multi fuel boiler in my home, which provided my heat and 76 gallons of domestic hot water. I used wood consistently in the late Fall, Winter and early Spring once it got below 40 degrees to minimize the creosote. I used oil for fuel during the rest of the year for minimal heat and hot water. I use to split and average between 4-6 cords depending on the outside ambient temperature. A friend of mine that owns a tree service was always happy to drop a load of wood cut to size for me so I didn’t have to pay for my fuel, only to split and stack it. And yes Ron, I agree that there is nothing like the heat that wood produces.
