We're supposed to get another 15-20" by the end of this week, along with wind up to 40mph. Hopefully that will be the last of it, we've been hammered with snow this year but at least the temperature has been mild.

The 24-009492 is showing that it's for 73+ Monte Carlos on Summit Racing, with the 24-131506 showing as the right shock for a 70-72. The 24-131506 shows as the correct shock on the Bilstein site as well (they don't have anything Monte Carlo on their site but it comes up for Chevelle).

Thanks guys. I knew about the bracket, and it makes sense about the other two. The car did have aftermarket air shocks when I bought it.

I'm fitting my rear bumper onto the car and noticed a few extra holes, at least one looks like it had a fastener in it at one point. The bumper hasn't been on the car for 35 years, and I didn't see these in the assembly manual. There's the holes behind the license plate, which I assume connects to the frame crossmember, and the holes on the bottom. What are they for?

As they said, 1/8" toe in and 3+ degrees of positive caster. You also want -.25 to -1.5 degrees of camber.
After the car is on the road you can tune the alignment based on how it feels using this guide:

I'll stop clogging your thread after this, threw the trim on and got a head on shot.

It'll be on the road this summer, just not in finished paint.

Here are the Dapper Oe7.

I can get some next weekend, but the front end is only partially installed. Unless you're looking at them straight on I doubt anybody but a purist would even notice the difference, the entire lens is fluted other than a small circle in the middle for the projector. I chose this style because I didn't want the cheaper lights with multiple projectors that look like a fly's eye.

I have these with the OE lens option, they're far brighter than the headlights in any car that I've owned. They dropped into the bucket with no issues, but I may need to trim 1/8" from the bucket's inner diameter to get the trim rings to sit tighter.

It should be for suppression of noise in the radio/electrical system and connects to the voltage regulator.

1992-98 Grand Cherokee Fast Ratio Power Steering Gears
YEAR ALPHA CODE ORIGINAL APPLICATION GEARRATIO EFFORT T-BAR SIZE TRAVEL
1992.5-93-94 AL Jeep Grand Cherokee 12.7:1 20-26 0.195 Dia 43deg 45min
1995 JH Jeep Grand Cherokee 12.7:1 20-26 0.195 Dia 43deg 45min
1996 KD Jeep Grand Cherokee 12.7:1 20-26 0.195 Dia 43deg 45min
1997-98 WK Jeep Grand Cherokee 12.7:1 20-26 0.195 Dia 43deg 45minI used a Lares 200 rag joint for mine, and reused the stock bolts/nuts.
Most people run the Lee power steering seats but I can't comment on those because I have a metric power steering pump/reservoir:
You could also find a newer GM truck and remove the fitting from the back of its power steering pump and swap it with yours to be able to use late model pressure hoses. I believe I used the pressure hose from a 1985 Monte Carlo SS.

I would only use offset shafts if you can't get a good alignment.

From a few (too many) years ago. The car was a complete basket case.

I know they have overlays for most models, but I'm having a harder time finding one for 70-72. I'll keep looking.

When Summit sent me a damaged brake line set they paid to ship the box back and arranged for pickup by whichever shipper they were using. All I had to do was tape the box and slap the label on it.

I'm running the Pypes 2.5" Race Pro system without any crossover pipe. I had to add a bit of pipe between the system and the long tube headers, while also adding a cone reducer because my collectors don't have a flange. I replaced a lot of the U-bolts with band connectors. It's not too loud, and it avoided the hollow sound that LS engines get with aftermarket exhaust.

If your starter is being engaged while shifting you have a second issue, as it should only be able to engage when turning the key to 'start'. You may need to adjust the ignition switch as well.

I would check with MC-71.

Hydrodip would be the answer. They put a clear coat on top of it when complete, so you should be able to choose your desired sheen.
1970 Monte Carlo Hood Springs
in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum

Check the hood hinges for side play, they're probably worn out if you didn't lube them regularly. Willie from hoodhingerepair.com told me that the 1970 has stiffer springs than the other years, so replacing them with new springs may make the problem worse.
