  1. Thanks to everyone who replied. I checked the engine block numbers behind the alternator again. The first number is definitely a one. 10202CRN The last eight digits match the vin from the dash and the build sheet. The numbers by the coil and distributor are on the intake manifold. The car is a Baltimore built 1970 SS monte. Jim
  2. Can anyone help with decoding these numbers: - near the coil and distributor CON V8 A 28 70 - engine block behind the alternator 10202 CRN 18815xxxx - above engine oil filter HI PERF K PA 69 3 Thanks
  3. Thats what I will do.And see how the car runs. Thanks for the info.
  4. Would anyone know the original way a 70's gas tank was hooked up?
  5. My 70 SS had a new gas tank when I bought it. Two gas lines run from the fuel pump to the tank. There are 2 lines, one 3/8" and one 1/2", on the right side of the tank that run up under the trunk and are open ended. When the tank is filled and driven a few miles, gas vents out the larger hose. Where are these lines supposed to go or can they be plugged? If plugged, will the tank vent through the gas cap then?
  6. Would anyone know the part number for the lower heat stove for a big black 454 cu in?
  7. Thanks for the info. Does anyone know where the vent filter coming from the air breather is supposed to go to?
  8. The air breather has a snorkle and vacuum diaphragm. There is no hose on the heat stove passage and there is no spot for it on the exhaust manifold. Would this be a stock air breather for a Baltimore Maryland built car? Should there be a hot air shroud and hose?
