  1. Yes, that is a valve train issue

    Guides are worn

    Thank you !

Sounds like it's time to buy a set of aftermarket heads with a decent compression ratio and wake my engine up !

Is it a problem to drive it as it is ? Can It break something in my engine ?

  2. Hi all,

Today I did a little carb tuning. Needed to hear the engine roar

When I plug my vacuum gauge, the needle is shaking, between 16 and 20 Hg/in.

Ignition timing is set correctly. It's a bone stock 350, never rebuilt I guess. Just have 2,5" exhaust, new intake and 600cfm Holley.

What does it means ? Valve problem ?

  3. Hi all,

My gas tank buildup too much pressure... When I open the cap, let's say after 15minutes of driving, i hear a big whoosh!

I removed the charcoal canister a year ago, and left the line open.

I noticed this problem when my engine hesitate and was close to die, and did not rev above 3krpm. It happens sometime but does not last very long.

Is it possible it's just not venting properly? My cap is a non vented one.

Anyone else with this problem find a solution?

  4. I'm surprised no one has responded to your questions yet. About a year or so ago I was going through the same questions myself. I can't remember all the research that I did but I seem to remember that the tall ball joints and tubular a arms will provide the same improvements in your steering geometry. I chose to go with the tubular a arms because that way when the ball joints do go bad I can use stock replacements. The tall aftermarket ones are good bit more money. Plus the tubular a arms look cool

    Thanks Daryl !

Yes tubular arms looks cool but unfortunately cost a lot more than ball joints frown

Tall ball joints seems to be the best bang for the buck, I 'll start with tall ball joints & poly bushings on my stock arms.

  5. Make sure to do your homework on the 295's. I know there has been a dump load of threads on here about max tire size and from what I remember reading, most say it can't be done without rolling the fender.

Hopefully, someone else will jump in here with either the answer or a link to the numerous threads on this topic.

    Mike

Thank you Mike, I hope it will fit without rolling the fender ! Anyway, I ordered 4 15x8 rims. If 295's doesn't fit, I will downsize a bit.

  6. Just guessing, as it's very hard to tell without the car in front of you to measure, but as it doesn't appear to have too much done to the lip of the fender, 15x8 is my guess.

Unless you plan on putting something excessively wide, 15x8 is all you'll really need. Can put bigger than 275/60 R15s on them safely, but I don't have the information in front of me to be 100% sure on the max size an 8 inch wide wheel will take..

    Thanks you Mitchell, you're right, it's 15x8.

    I just ordered 4 15X8 Soft 8, can't wait !!!
