  1. Hey question for any electrical gurus out there, wiring up my new hei engine harness from american auto wire, i was an idiot and forgot to disconnect the battery when putting the power cable on the back of the alternator. It sparked and i think it shorted something out. I dont have a junction block or horn relay etc and the only fusible link i believe is this red one coming off the starter solenoid top post...

Hoping replacing the fusible link wire will fix the issue. Thanks for any advice!

  2. Hey guys just wondering if a 70-72 chevelle ENGINE wiring harness will plug into my 72 monte carlo bulkhead connector and reach everything on the motor fine. I have the body harness side. But the engine side of my harness was cut up. Found a few chevelle hei engine harness' for sale but wanna make sure. Thanks!

  3. Awesome news on the brake lines thanks! Now regarding the full fuel line im reading you have to lift the body off the frame and all this craziness, is there a more simple work around to install the fuel line? Im okay with it not being exact factory aslong as its tidy and works.

    Thanks

  4. Hey guys bought a new 72 monte with no brake or fuel lines on it, was wondering what the lengths were roughly so i can buy and bend myself, the prebent kits are too expensive for my taste. If any of you have done it before and/or know roughly the lengths i need then please let me know!

    Cheers!

  5. So I finally peeled the vinyl off my 72 and was pleasantly surprised to see 0 rust. Anyways this weekend i plan on taking the vinyl trim off and mig welding all the holes shut. Anyone done this before and have a more effecient way of doing so? Cheers,

    Mackenzie.

  6. Really appreciate the feedback guys this is all new to me but im aware of the challenges that lie ahead, this car holds a fair amount of sentimental value to me and my family so i think its worth the process. For fabrication skills ive never really done any of such but do have some skilled welders for friends, that being said I live in an apartment in a busy city and have literally nowhere to do such extensive work. So im mostly looking at quotes for a shop to do both sides and rear window, been quoted 2 grand each side if i provide the materials and remove the vinyl myself. Which seems on the cheap side comparing to other shops around vancouver, most likely will go there.

  7. Ya ive seen those channel pieces definitely gnna need to order some, but one bottom corner of my rear window has accumulated a nickel sized hole right where the vinyl top ends, not sure if a full amd quarter would replace that sail panel area kinda.

  8. Alright thanks for your advice, by fenderwell do u mean wheel well? Same difference im sure, the top of the fender lips are solid i had to grind them to fit my 275 tires, but down near the side trim its quite rotten. Not to mention the rear window corners have rust holes which maybe have been fixable with a full quarter? But anyways thanks for the input. Truly do appreciate it. Cheers

  9. Alright its hard to tell if I need to replace the wheel housing aswell, im gonna take some pictures when I get home and throw them up on imgur, then you can let me know what you think if Thats cool, big price diff in amd full quarters (850$) compared to the 200$ skins. Thanks for all the wise words!
