  1. Blackhawk thanks, soon as spring hits I'll be back at it! Thanks realred70, time to start looking for one haha, I am 99% sure mine is not there when I was trying to test it this summer.
  2. Good link, with good info, one more question, I have read different things about this, but is there supposed to be a 90 ohms resistor on the back of our fuel gauges? I can only find things on chevelles, and some people say yes others say no, any idea if we are supposed to have one?
  3. Thanks for the info blackhawk, I added fuel stabilizer to a full tank, and put it up on jack stands, I guess I'll find out in the spring if I did enough haha. So if I were to disconnect the tan wire from the sender and ground it, I should see the fuel gauge go to full? If all this happens I guess I can safely say I've got to drop the tank and see what's going on correct? Thank you
  4. Hey everyone, hope your summers were as good as mine, getting as much driving in as possible. Its come that time for me here in ontario to finally put my car away for its first winter as a complete car. Two questions. What do the people here do when storing their cars for winter in a garage that will just as cold as outside? Next, actual question for this thread, while working on getting my car running at the beginning of the year, I always put 15-20 dollars of gas in the tank via Jerry can. Now that would usually give me about 1/4 of a tank, and as I ran the car doing testing etc. It would always run down to empty. The first time I put the car on the road, i went and filled up at the gas station, noticed after I filled up, the gas gauge wouldn't move from just below half. And now not matter how low I run the tank, it is stuck just below half, anyone have any tips? I have drivin the car for 2 months, I dont think I have a stuck float, it's a new sender and gas tank, american autowire complete rewire on the car, gas gauge is the only thing origanal, let me know what you guys think, thanks, chris
  5. Hey guys, so these are the wheels I went with, us mags. 18x8 in the front 235/40 rears are 18x9.5 275/45. No trimming required and looks like a great fit! Thanks for all the advice!!!
  6. Thanks alot everyone, good to see that everyone runs pretty much the same set up, now I just need to figure out a style of rim to go with, again thank you for all the info!
  7. Thanks dan for the info, do you know about offset? The right amount? Thanks
  8. Just curious to hear what people are running for rims and tires on their Montes. Rim size/back space tire size Trying to make a choice on wheels but I need to make sure of proper offsets. Looking at doing 17's or a staggered 18 rear 17 front. Thanks everyone
  9. Thanks Steve, I had found a driveshop shop around me and with the right information, I had them build me a brand new driveshaft!
  10. Doug, ok I get what your saying! I think once I get it on the road for a test drive in a weekend or so, I'll find out if I like it I guess haha. Paul bell, did you take the switch apart to do so?
  11. Hi Doug, thanks for the reply, I did check the switch for power while slowing moving the plunger, and i didn't get power until the switch was moved pretty much to the end of its travel, forgive me for sounding like a newb haha but do you have to take the switch apart in order to change the point at which the switch allows power to flow through? To me the way it is right now just doesnt make a while lot of sense, id have to put my foot to the floor as of right now to make the car downshift, just doesnt seem right. So I guess what iam asking, is yes is there some sort of adjustment for this switch? Thanks again for the input!
  12. Hey everyone, so I am trying to Install the kickdown switch, I got both the switch and bracket from opgi. Now, the switch only allows 12 volts to flow through when the switch is completely open, meaning the gas pedal has to be all the way to the floor. Does this sound right? Thanks guys

    Hood spear

Ok, so is there any other option for this? I have looked at the 71, not exactly my favorite, does anyone know if a spear is made to cover the hole, without the flexible ornament?
  15. ChrisM

    Hood spear

What was the hole meant for? Do you know?

    Hood spear

Hey everyone, first time paying attention to this now that Ian putting the hood spear on, why is there a big hole (pictured) the three small holes are perfect, but I have this big hole, i don't know why. Any ideas?
  17. Man, Paul thank you so much! I am picking up the trans on Sunday and next week it goes in for a rebuild. I got a whole bunch of other parts in over the last couple of days! Hopefully in the next few weeks it will be a runner and driver! I'll keep everyone updated
  18. Ah this is Awesome! Thanks a lot
  19. Thanks guys, this is a good start. Are the gas pedals the same?
  20. So after doing Alot of thinking, i found a th400 that I'll have to have rebuilt. What I need to know is what I need to do to swap from my th350 to the th400. Parts, cross member, everything I'll need for the swap! Thanks everyone
  21. Thanks everyone for the info, I have found a drive shaft shop, they know exactly what I need, I'll be dropping the shaft off, they are going to shorten it and put a new u-joint after cutting the old yoke and replacing with a newer style
  22. Ok perfect thanks Paul! Ian going to try and find the correct u-joint, and find some strap style hold downs
  23. Ohhhh ok I get what you mean, Ok, so I have to take a measurement of how much of the front yoke at the trans, should have 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch out from the seal, once I do have the correct u-joint, now is there a way to figure out whether it's a strap or u bolt style? Or it going to be try what works, thank you for all the help and advice everyone
